How do I disable driver arms in cockpit view in the Formula Extreme? I'd like to have only wheel with no arms like I do with the other cars, driver arms in the Formula Extreme are poorly done and cover my view of the track.
I have no idea. I'm using the same graphical settings I use for every other car. For other cars I have only wheel with no arms but for the Formula Extreme I have those crappy arms that cover my view of the track.
I tried moving seat forward and it makes things way worse, now arms keeping appearing and disappearing and makes the car undriveable.
I just checked my Formula Extreme cockpit camera and there are no arms in the way. I tried adjusting the FOV and seat position to their extremes and the arms never appeared. I was able to get the arms to appear by using the "Toggle Free Move" and "Cam Move" keys and then moving the camera straight back a little. This makes me think something might be off with either your F_Extreme_Cams.cam file or the F_Extreme_cockpitinfo.ini file. (...Automobilista\GameData\Vehicles\F_Extreme) The .cam file should have a section that looks exactly like this: Code: LocalCam=COCKPIT { Fov=(50.000000, 50.000000) Clear=TRUE Color=(164, 218, 249) ClipPlanes=(0.120000, 500.000000) LODMultiplier=(1.000000) Size=(1.000000, 1.000000) Center=(0.500000, 0.500000) MipmapLODBias=(0.000000) Flags1=(0) Flags2=(0) RadiusLimits=(0.000000, 0.000000) OrientationRate=(999.000000, 999.000000, 999.000000) PositionOffset=(0.000000, 0.000000, -0.000) \\(+Left-Right, +Up-Down, +Back,-Forward) OrientationOffset=(-0.00000, 0.000000, 0.000000) //(+Up-Down, +Left-Right, Roll: +Left-Right) Radius=(0.000000) } The cockpitinfo file should look like this: Code: Eyepoint=(0.0, 0.73, -0.05) CameraTarget=(0.000, 0.50, 0.000) TVOffset=(0.0, 0.20, 0.63) MirrorPos=(0.0, 0.74, 0.20) FrontWheelsInCockpit=1 CockpitVibrationMag=0.004 HeadMaxPos=(0.020,0.010,0.010) HeadMaxOri=(0.050,0.050,0.150) RPMLED=FRRPMLED RPMLEDRANGE=(7500,12500) RPMLEDNUMBER=15 GearsFont=FRGEARFONT.bmp GearsBackground=FRGEARSBK GearsScale=(1.8, 2.6) SpeedFont=FRFONTA.bmp SpeedBackground=FRSPEEDBK SpeedScale=(3.0, 2.6) LapsFont=FRFONTA.bmp LapsBackground=FRLAPSBK LapsScale=(1.9, 3.0) // ReizaGSC tire indexes CompoundIndexes=(0,1,2,3) // allways after "FrontWheelsInCockpit" // ReizaGSC DRS visual settings drs_flap_led_material=RZFLAP_LD drs_flap_wing_material=WCEXTRA2 // what if? If your files look just like that, then it's a mystery. If not, there's the answer. .
I don't have those arms, i think delete the car from your game directory and "Verify Integrity" will fix it
In some cars (generally formula cars with upright steering wheels), we have moving arms attached to the steering wheel set to appear only in TV cameras, so they LOD out when under a 80cm viewing gap. The idea is that they only appear from TV cameras where they can look appropriate most of the time, but not from cockpit view as they´re not properly animated. If you move your seat over 80cm from default position they might pop in from cockpit, but you probably shouldnt be moving your POV that far back anyway. Try adjusting your FOV from the Display setting instead.
I checked the F_Extreme_Cams.cam & F_Extreme_cockpitinfo.ini files, mine have the exact same numbers as you posted. I'm using default seat position & default FOV like I do with every other car, arms are always there in Formula Extreme cockpit view. Moving seat forward only makes things worse.
It looks like the issue with driver arms in cockpit view is specific to certain teams. I had only used 1 Formula Extreme team so far (2015 MK Racing). I tried all other Formula Extreme teams with default seat position & FOV. 2015 Groove Motorsports had the same issue, all other teams work fine with no arms in cockpit view, so it's an issue specific those 2 teams.
