    Hey guys,
I've been setting up races at night a lot recently and wanted to see what people think of headlights getting broken in 'visual only' settings.

On the one hand, visual only should include the headlights as this doesn't affect the car's performance.

On the other hand, when it's dark and you don't have headlights, it does affect the driver's performance. :p

After experiencing this unfortunate situation the other night, my main concern other than seeing where I was going was whether or not cars in front could still see me.

I finished the race and found it to be quite fun driving by the moonlight but it set me on this train of thought; should headlight damage be included on visual only, should it be a seperate tickbox/option or should people who dislike it just turn off visual damage altogether?

It has to be included in visual damage. Having visual damage to the front of the car, potentially including no front but still having working headlights is absurd.

That's one vote for 'just switch damage off' then I guess.

Damage in Multiplayer is a broken feature anyway. better switch it off. The damage does not reset for other clients, so after a while it's all wrecks on a track.

What do you mean by the damage doesn't reset, that the cumulative debris causes problems?
Does debris affect other cars hitting it?

I normally don't and wont run visual damage at night or in the rain again because the consequences affect one's ability to drive in a way that is not 'visual only'..

It's not something I care greatly about, as you said, I think it's best to switch it off but it did make me think that an option to protect wipers and lights could be nice.

It means that once a clients car has received damage, it stays damaged looking to other clients. As a result, it's a racing wreck session. neither repair nor teleport to Pit can resolve the wrecked look to other clients. It's a bug from Project cars 2, and despite everyone can see it, SMS refused to aknowledge it.

That I turn means, nobody knows how to fix it.

Hence, damage in game broken, turn damage off.

Damage and it's visual representation to other clients makes it a feature that works properly in single player only.

And if some numpty/backmarker hits you in a night race you have to retire (unless its a well lit track) so might as well have full damage on or none at all on a night race

Ah I see, thanks for clarifying, I hadn't noticed that.

Yeah, sadly I can't blame anyone for my headlights, I just hit a wall =P, but the result is the same.

    Damage off it is.
