Pretty subjective and I may get some flack but...

Why is damage enabled in time trials?

I can't get round a lap of Monaco without smashing the side so would be really helpful if damage was off!

Hats off to the lads getting the fast times on that track by the way, I'm years off clearly lol.

there has to be something to stop wall running and a price to pay for making mistakes. otherwise there’s no satisfaction in getting it right after finding the edge .

what i would like to see is some relaxing of off track penalty or cut line of most of the curbs through the various chicanes in game.
ie adelaide, monza and salvador for starters.
not a huge shift , just allow for use of curbs in cars that can handle it without allowing wheel completely over backside of curb.

Would also prefer no damage enabled, but if it is necessary in TT mode to stop wall riders then it would be good to fix some of the starting points so you can restart a session and go straight into a flying lap. Some tracks like Imola put you too close to the start line and you must waste a lap after each restart.

a "2 wheel within the white lines" rules should be pretty doable since both the car width and tire positions are available in memory. not sure if track parameters are in memory, but i assume the AI needs such data to know if they are close to offtrack.

Because, it would allow wall riding as a tactic. Went back and entered a Pcars2 Rallycross time-trial community event and got a top 5 time a few weeks ago. The leader full yeeted the car into the outside wall on the tightest corner because it was faster than taking it normally. Meanwhile, I beat him in every corner except that one and was still 0.8 down for not resorting to unrealistic tactics.

Ye understand, maybe we could have damage off but if you touch the walls it invalidates your lap, that way we don't have to restart constantly.

Or I could just get better lol

But there are situations even in irl like street circuits or leading on to conrod straight at bathurst , when you can graze the wall near the end of a good hot lap and it doesn’t do anything but cosmetic damage.

Damage being on isn't really the issue, the problem is that it doesn't reset when we cross the start line. If it instantly reset hotlapping/time trial would be much more pleasant. Having to restart regularly because of aero damage picked up scraping a wall is a pain. And because of where the lead in positions on some tracks are situated, often your first lap gets binned anyway. It's just not an ideal setup at the moment that takes some of the fun out of it and pulls you out of the flow too often.
