I know Reiza will publish a thread for the new FFB soon but in the mean time… I would like to know more about the relation between in game dampers and the Fanatec tuning settings (DRI, DPR, SPR)

If you set the Fanatec driver’s DPR to 100 and SPR to 100, is it the same as having the in-game damper to 100??

Is it better to have Fanatec wheel’s DPR and/or SPR set to 0 and the in-game damper to x number??

Wheel damper 100 in game damper 0 = Wheel damper 0 in game damper 100?

    Heyho.

It doesn't matter for most modern racing games (except Codemasters games, for example), if you have SPR or DPR to 100 or 0, because the damper signals in AMS2 gets sent via main gain channel. For always getting the result, that is desired by the developer of a game, i highly recommend leaving SPR and DPR at 100, because it will make no difference after all for new games, but makes one for others and you're missing out effects. (This is for Fanatec wheels)

I remember reading Renato's update saying that he actually recommends turning DPR to 0 or off?

It was said to deactivate the static built in motor damper by your hardware.
This "damper setting off case" is for Thrustmaster wheels, that apply static damper due to this setting.

Fanatec uses the DRI setting for static motor damper. Damper/Dpr is a channel, that waits for a signal, the game has to send you first. You can leave it at 100 with Fanatec wheels.

Interesting! So on fanatec wheels, it's recommended to have spring and damper left at 100, and what about DRi? Set to OFF, or the fanatec forums recommended -2?

I've been playing with the settings a fair bit and it seems that I get better feel when fanatec damper and spring are set to 0. I'm not sure why this is. When set both to 100, the wheel feels very heavy and almost like it's hiding a lot of the road feel through corners.

Do you know if Renato or the team will be starting a new thread to explain all the new FFB effects and settings for each wheel?

Appreciate all your hard work Crimson!

i would always recommend leaving it to OFF and using ingame damper, because the AMS2 damper is dynamically related to wheel acceleration. The Fanatec recommendations are outdated anyway and tbh. not really good. (IMO, it's just subjective)
No idea. After all, set your wheel up to what might feel best to you. Force Feedback is such a subjective thing, nobody can tell you, what's YOUR personal favourite setting. :)

There will be an FFB guide, i'm pretty sure about that, yes!

Thanks mate, i appreciate the appreciation! :D

On the official fanatec forums it has been stated that the recommended settings won't be changed. A bit surprising tbh.
