Hi, many times when joining MP, the server announces something like 'the car is not recognized....user will be kicked from the race...' then I'm disallowed to proceed. Definitely my AMS copy is updated. What's causing this? Also, perhaps its better to just have the server disallow entering from the start, so as not to waste time? While at it, I also noticed an 'Install' button at the initial loading screen (after clicking Join), but the button isn't clickable.
Which servers exactly are you getting this ? Maybe they are not updated or are running a modded content! About the install button, this is for the "upgrades" of a car! So if the car doesn't have any upgrades, you won't be able to click on it! You can try with the Caterham for example (change sides or rollcage config)!
Oh, I don't remember the names, but I've experienced it several times already. Are you checking to see if they're Reiza or user servers? OTOH, they're not identifiable anyway in the server names. I see. So why would the Install button be shown if there's nothing to install/upgrade? I'll keep the Caterham in mind when I see it again in MP, to try.
Try to enter the Official Reiza ones (you can see them on the virtualexperience.com site). About the install button, well, it's a design choice. But i think it's pretty clear that if you can't press a button it's usually because it's not active on that occasion.
