AMS2 - User Livery Overrides

WIP preview of Gordon's car. Still some things to change but should be ready later today.

 

Great skins... interesting how to get that fixed "preset" side shot of the car (like Panasonic)? In livery preview mode camera just goes itself slowly in different angles. I am just thinking about tinkering with those preview textures.

 

Too bad that there is no fixed camera position! Therefore, I wanted to make the right preview images for the entire skin pack only at the end when all skins are in the pack.
Some skins are sometimes still being reworked, etc. and it takes a long time to have the preview images in the same camera position.

 

Yeah it is annoying that the showroom does not allow user control. Basically you just have to sit there and wait for it to show a certain shot. Unless there is some secret I don't know about.

 

If you go into/out of the showroom quite fast and often, you can speed up having the car in the desired position. But can make you sick, too.

It's a shame you're doing your own thing now. I wanted to avoid that people have to tinker with it themselves to avoid different versions!
Different skins wouldn't be a problem, but many people don't know much about the custom driver system.

 

Have downloaded the file of Iksmean at RD and then transfered Gordon's livery into your pack. But some players who are not used to edit mods might fail to do so.

 

I will only do this when he gives me permission - at the moment he has only given permission for the car with the 25!
I will also do it in the resolution 4096 x 4096 so that the data size is 10.6 MB (11,184,952 bytes).
Since that is what Reiza suggests. What else could be done is a selection with once 4096x4096 and once 4096x6144
then everyone can decide for themselves which size they want or depending on the performance of their PC. What I hope is that it will not cause any problems that it is so different.

 

I have prepared the Custom Driver AI and the Custom Liveries Overrides so far. All you have to do is move the finished dds file (skin or skin preview) into the skin folder.
Then I plan to make only one skin of Payton Coyne Racing with Michel Jourdain Jr and the free space for Walker Racing with Gil de Ferran. As shown in the pictures below!
Walker Racing had a Honda engine but I think the skin is worth ignoring.
Should I use Ford logos for the skin or Honda logos as in the original? But then it is only available in the Reynard Ford selection with Ford engine?

 

Why not keep Honda logos as it was back then in 1998? I think that no one cares, as there are just 4 spots in the Honda folder.

The 4 spots are already filled with the Ganassi and Team Green cars.

Yes, I know, but I somehow imagined, that 5th, 6th livery can be added anyway...
