3080Ti, 3080, 6800XT or 3070Ti?? Price is the same for 3070Ti and 6800XT and 3080 is $300 more than both and 3080Ti is another $250. So 3080Ti is $550 more than 6800XT and 3070Ti. I want the 3080Ti but not sure the $550 is worth it, or even if the $300 for the 3080 is worth it and the 6800XT seems to have the best dollar to performance if going by NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Specs How well do AMD card work in triple screen (AMD Surround software) and is DLSS something i should really consider?
I would go the 3080ti, almost the same performance as the 3090 but a lot less cost. Or wait until next gen, both nvidia and amd are expecting massive performance increases.
Looks like there may be a few new versions coming at the end of January, more VRAM 3070ti and a 3090ti. Annoying as if I buy now I will be kicking myself if new cards come right after I buy. 3 or 4 months later would be okay buy not the next month. Looks like I'm on hold....again.
I can't see them being much better, the 3090ti doesn't make much sense to me, must just be a couple of % faster than 3090. The 3070ti will still be a long way behind 3080ti.
3070. 3070ti, 3080 and 3080ti are considered GPU's for gaming. 3090 and 3090ti are for workstations, editing and other heavy loads. Currently I would go with 3070 or 3070ti. The 3080's if you got lotta of money to lose.
it is the 8GB on the 3070's that bothers me so if they bring a 16Gb 3070Ti or something it would get my attention more. Also new cards may bring prices down a bit. I looked at profitability of cards and even the 3090 is only something like $6 a day atm. That isn't much and will take a fair amount of load off demand i would imagine.
If GB bothers you I would go 3070ti. It likely the best bang for the buck. But keep in mid 4xxxx is coming somewhere end of 2022 or Q1/2 in 2023, so yeah.
3070Ti has 8GB also. I would be fine if i got 6 months before a newer better card came out, just news now is saying bigger VRAM models may be here end Jan 22, if they are the same money as current models id be spewing. But waiting sucks because i end up waiting and waiting where i could have just been enjoying the card and not worry about new models.
Was running a 6700xt on triple screen 1080p rig really comfortable at 75fps which is max frequency of my 3 free sync monitors so I would say AMS2 is well optimized for AMD card at least that’s my experience
@2ndLastJedi Ah you're right. 3070Ti still has 8gb. I might be confused with something else. Well I think a 3070Ti is still a great bang for the buck. I got my 3070 for 720 in Feb 2020. Used. I am really happy with it. It hovers betwen 90 - 117 (capped) in AMS 2 with a 49inch monitor, so 5440x2560. (Overcast is pita) Maybe a 3080 will give you enough room and many years, tho. However ,you're kinda late to the party for a 30xx. It's either go full out or wait for 40xx, and hope market stabilized... but I am kinda certain the market will never stabilize again. Gaming will be really expensive for a decade.
Yeah i know i'm kind of late but i just finished paying off my house so now i feel i can finally spend something on me again now that i don't have to worry about the mortgage anymore I do feel kind of stupid spending $2000 on a GPU, but that is the cost of an upgrade from my 1080Ti. I really want to get some G-Sync action working on my triple screens and Pascal is limited to the single screen, also i want experience more than 60 fps since my screens are 144Hz. I've got a 3080 in my basket, but my heart rate starts to pound every time i hover my mouse over buy! I'm going to sleep on it a little more
Good job paying off the house, I still have a long way to go with that!! I was hesitant when I got the 3090 and felt dirty for spending that much at the time but now I realise that if you want good high end stuff it is just gonna cost you money. I dont drink or smoke or have any other vices so feel like I deserve to spend some money every now and them on my main hobby. I know I would get my moneys worth out of it. Unlike the missus who drops money on heat of the moment decisions and then never uses what she buys, that gives me comfort in what I spend, lol.
You know I had a 1080Ti as well, an AIO variant from EVGA super OCed and I loved it but then I decided to give AMD another chance with the 6000 series and I had no regret to date I understand that AMS2 is a NVIDIA sponsored title but there are really some great AMD GPUs out there that would give the Green side a serious run for the money.I mean literally
Had a AIO cooled R 290 back then. Was fun. Needed a special bracket for it. The pump made lotta noise, tho.
Hope it arrives soon! Have fun gaming! Fun thing is that 30xx used prices will likely stay for a while, so in 2023 you can sell the 3080 for high and buy a 50xx
It's already forgotten. I can't sleep with excitement just to hold this big thick monster in my hands. Did you ever get that 12th gen Intel upgrade? Your sig still shows the 7700k.
