I’ve read all the horror stories about AMS 2 U and F lobbies and I’ve been victim to the old PC2 lobbies of people waiting for you around a blind corner ready to drive head on or the missile attacks from behind at T1 Monza. We all need to get into D class to ditch these idiots, so why don’t we arrange private lobbies so that we can race clean, have fun and as a team drop all our licences? Seems like the most obvious and easiest answer? I’ve been able to be part of one private online race, but now their league starts today and I couldn’t enter due to commitments I have on some Saturdays IRL and wouldn’t meet their minimum show up rate of 11 out of 16 races. I’m trying to organise sprint races for fun, to meet folks and drop our licences. If this is something of interest, feel free to join this discord ( I’m not an admin, just found them on Facebook and so far two have semi agreed to race this weekend to better license grades. Only discord that got a reply to setting up AMS2 servers ) Join the All Nations Sim Racing Discord Server! Will initially be sprint races, each player can choose car and track combos, keep it simple, no leagues, no points, no splits, just purely for fun and end goal improve license! Honestly speaking if there’s three cars on the grid I’ll take that because we can dodge public U and F lobbies. If you are tired of public lobbies and desperate to improve your license, let’s get there together in private lobbies, have fun and help create more D license and better drivers together. Looking to do some races this weekend, I’m ready to go right now and based in the U.K.
What makes you think you won't be trolled by A or S drivers. As long as those profiles can be duplicted and used with steam share profiles, all of that is nonsense.
Many thanks for the buzz kill reply. From reading comments on this forum and discussions from other discords, D license and above appears to improve racing standards. I want to experience that for myself. If it doesn’t work out that way, at least I know I tried. This thread wasn’t started for a debate, it’s here to try and round up people in the same position as me, who want to better their license, have fun online racing, feel safe from having their race ruined by idiots, race people from this forum, meet others from other discords and have decent private lobbies in the future. It has to be better and more proactive than moaning on forums about trolls, kicking people, ghost cars etc etc. We can avoid it by trying to begin private lobbies and help increase the amount of people with better licences.
A quick mention for JustRace.net, which has a basic ranking/safety system for the major sims, including AMS2. It's completely free. Scroll down the home page to see upcoming races. AMS Unofficial Discord offers casual and more serious races and seasons, too. Good luck to All Nations Simracing Discord. The more the merrier.
Update I’m now the proud owner of a C license! I was F license yesterday! If anyone from this forum would like to participate in private password protected, idiot free, safe lobbies, for good clean fun racing and to better your license grade, feel free to let me know! I’m happy with C, but more than happy to help others get out of the U and F license nightmare. A good tip is to complete every available lap in quali, because these are counted towards your safety rating too, just keep them clean!
Another thing you can do is run a room full of AI. You will eventually get a few other people in there but just racing the AI cleanly will quickly gain you safety points (skill points are only gained from other people in the room). Start from the back and see how far up you can get without contact. Good practice and your safety rating will climb quickly. This will also highlight the issue with AI in MP lobbies...as they will form trains that are difficult to pass. When other people are in the lobby it becomes better since the AI trains get broken up.
