It would be nice to have a comprehensive list of all possible startup commands or settings, especially a list that includes turning off crowds, or reduce trees to improve FPS... Anyone? List of officials startup commands from Steam -FFB 600 -noVR -skipcrowds -RTX Raytraced shadows and reflections (NOTE: that one might not exist ) Perhaps, if this list gets good enough...we can pin this thread.
Wondering if we should be using the pthreads or it's automatically detected and optimized at launch?? I wish the crowd setting would work and there was a "less trees" options as well.
I was reading in the PC2 form that someone tested -pthreads 4 across several system builds and hardly noticed any performance gains. Again, not too sure how it will effect AMS2 ?
I just did a race at Daytona with the launch code -skipcrowds and it was working as there was no spectators at track side or fans in the stands
Tried it as well, worked on Daytona. Didn't try it on anything else... Any settings that allow a steady 120fps at 5120x1440, I will apply, except for AA and Shadows The only tracks (so far) in the game that have a big drops in FPS are Monza short circuit T1, Cleveland and Watkins Glen.
Well... the excitement was short lived. I tried on Monza on "Time Trial" and the crowd is present, yikes, completely disregarding the "skipcrowds" flag. Most likely, the track artists forgot to assign a property to the crowd objects in Max or Maya. See below... Time Trial should never have crowds to begin with!!
It forces the FFB to be calculated at 600hz (iRacing 60hz, ACC 333hz), to make sure you get all the tiny road, bumps, kerbs, extra details. It calculates it frequently for the best FFB possible.
When you enter multiple commands in 'Launch Options', do you just leave a space between each command, or is it a comma? If a space, what about the commands like '-FFB 600' or '-fpscap xxx' which have a space already?
A space, always. So '-FFB 600 -forceVR' for example. Btw., the -FFB 600 command isn't necessary anymore
Thanks @CrimsonEminence. I will now remove the -FFB 600. I'm also using -skipcrowds to avoid any slowdowns, it that also no longer needed or even respected?
Heads up folks: There is a new launch command now that you can use to make the game running while not in focus. Right click on your Automobilista 2 (also works for Beta) application in your steam library and choose properties -> then enter this launch command to the launch command bar on the bottom under the general settings tab: -doNotPauseOnFocusLoss
