Serious question and not [just] a gripe: since a lot of this game is based on PC2/Madness engine (I believe), shouldn't it be easier to bring over race tracks that are already in PC2? I'm sure I am naive about game development, but is this a business/licensing problem (we're a small indie studio, sh/It costs money) or a programming one (not enough staff, way harder than it appears)? Not sure if it's feasible, but I wish Reiza could just bring over more of the tracks we don't currently have from PC2? I'd readily pay for them (on top of my current season pass) and they might be a good, easy/er revenue source? Probably an issue of priorities, and that's fine because this is the best overall racer out there for me and who the hell am I, but I have been wondering this over the last fantastic year with AM2. Again, I'm sure I'm being naive, but I'm confident this is the best place to get an answer or better-informed opinion!

None of the tracks in AMS2 are simply "ported" from PCARS2. If you look closely you will not only notice much more detail, but also those tracks in ASM2 are more accurate and much more up to date.

Just like "Azure Circuit 21" just got updated. And that was about the only ported track.

Apart from licensing t's also not a good look to simply copy over tracks 1:1 from another game and take money for it, even if the assets are included in the original engine deal. Codemasters did something similar, where they ported their old Rally stages from Dirt1 over to Dirt2 and released them as paid DLC, They got quite a bit of backlash in the forums even though it was their own tracks they rereleased. Imagine Reiza selling other peoples work as DLC ^^

    They have already explained this.
To put it simply, if you polish a turd you still end up with a turd.

I don't think it would be simply a copy and paste job to bring over tracks from PCars2. Besides working a licensing deal with track owners & SMS at the very least Reiza would have to fix the black hole curbs and calibrate the AI, maybe fix any other issues the PCars2 version might have. I'd love to have all tracks from PCars2 in AMS2 but there's probably good reasons for Reiza to choose to create the content themselves and not port things over.

The black hole kerbs are because of the terrible FFB and broken diff settings in PC2.

Im pretty sure its all about licenses.
Reiza bought the license to use their engine but the track license is bought per track per game.
From what Ive read, a track like Le Mans is super ****ing expensive, not even GT Sport has the original license.

It would interesting to know how this works with Monaco and why they dont do this with a track like Le Mans, or Circuit de la Sarthe as other sims call it…

It would be nice to have all track/car combos in one sim, but to be honest I havent even driven all tracks on AMS2.
I would buy the Le Mans DLC on day one like I did with their other DLC tracks, but for now I just fire up RF2 and jump in an LMP1 or Hypercar like the Senna GTR.
