I have a lot of problems to heat up my tyres. This is on a lot of track/car combo’s but as an example: DPI Cadilac on Daytona road course. Tyres heat up in the infield but on the oval section again the temps drops massively. I think the temps on the straights drops at same rate as standing still. Anybody has a fix?
At Daytona you will not achieve good temps, especially not for the front tires. It's a known thing for this track. Your tires have just nothing to do. To work some temps in, try stiffer front suspension/ARB and close brake ducts. Also drive aggressively...there isn't much other help, because it's a characteristic of the track and other tracks with long straights too.
I guess its mainly a problem if you consider a sim(ulation) like AMS2 to mimic RL 1:1. But none of these socalled racing sims is able to do that In this case it sounds like the cooling of the tires is unrealistic high on straights compared to (maybe) a too low heating up on other parts of a track. ByTheWay: I can remember a discussion following some strange outpouring of the creator of iRacings TM v7 where he said that tires was not cooled when in contact with tarmac vs when they were airborne. Hehe or maybe he ment the opposite
Are the real prototypes really able to achieve optimal temperatures on the front tyres in the middle of winter on a track with massive straights? What exactly are we comparing against here?
Why are you suddenly more or less out of context talking about "middle of winter"? As I read the OP(and probabl anybody elses reading) there is nothing about winter here. But if you want to defend such kind of anomalies between socalled sims and RL by pointing out that it IS possible to find kinda similarites in RL if we go to extremes - then its completely OK with me But you will have a hard job. And I guess no devs will thank you for it - because who cares if tires cannot get hot in "middle of winter".
The most important race the Cadillac DPi competes is the Rolex 24 At Daytona, which is held in late January. The 2022 edition is just about to end now. Ambient temperatures were in the low 30s (F) yesterday, and they dropped down to the high 20s overnight. The guys on the TV broadcast were talking all night about how the low temperatures made it difficult to get the tires heated up.
Also at this combo i’m not able to get heat in the tyres can anybody replicate? Tack temp is 25 and i cannot get front tyres more then 50 degrees. Link to race department: Recreating the Galeão GP in Automobilista 2
Might be due the long straight so the tyres cool down. You can use lower pressure, fiddle with toe and use more wing
You should do none of those things as they'll not help with the tyre temps and will likely just make you slower. In any case, the circuit is a two hairpins and a couple of straights so you're never going to build up heat in the fronts nor do you particularly need to. These cars are on a hard compound that's perfectly happy at 50-60 C.
