Hey you 2 AC veterans - I think I have got into my 1st real issue with AC.
After checking the great new Road America out in AMS2 something in me forced me to just get back and run a few laps (more) in the AC L98T on LaSarthe.

Issue: All my other great laps in AC have been in Hotlap mode (3:33.150 remember? :D) - but now I wanted to earn a few points in the socalled TimeAttack mode.
Just for fun but also to get my AC self esteem raised even higher :p

But but its impossible to be allowed on track.
It makes no difference if I press the Start or the Start Engine button.
I just get into a loop where the game says it does load car & track but then get back to the screen shown in pic.
Question: Is this because the track is a mod and not one of the official tracks?

Great, at least somebody knows about it. I had so many debates how Horizon is arcade. It's not. H5 is worse in overall aspect but better in many ways of simulation. I always liked Horizons because what is under the hood. It's normal Motosport with fine tuning. To me GT, Motosport and Horizon are rather the same - simcades at max. Good fun, not so much of a simulation but very far from any normal arcades like Grid, NFS and others.

Forzavista is amazing and H4 has 750 cars! H5 is on a similar way with 560+ already. If anybody like cars, Horizon is for him.

This was normal before and the reason I didn't play it too much. Currently it's different. BUT cars have different tires because of long development. Try GT4 class, it has very similar feeling to "slidey" games. Strange is I tried some old ADAC GT3 cars and it felt a bit like before. So I am not sure if last FFB patch improved it or it's mostly about new tire physics.

What I like most about it, is the street racing aspect... head to head with traffic as "chicanes". With low tuned classic hot hatches from the 90's in the C class its a blast. The fun goes away for me the further you tune up the cars.

The handling of AWD cars in gravel reminds me e lot of DiRT Rally 2.0.... but the FFB and mixed surface feel is way better in FH5.

I remember hating the GT4s before because they were incredibly boring to drive, on-rails etc. It seems recently they've added some more interesting entries into the class (Audi R8 <3) and the tyre physics are a bit better now.

Exactly, I see it the same. Slower cars feels like real cars, it's almost like simulator. Anything faster is rather bad. Maybe they have altered physics for faster cars (why not). C class is very good. Last montly rivals I couldn't do it because S1 Ferrari felt like paper car. It was so bad. The faster car, the lower inertia, maybe.

Gravel is strange because Forza doesn't have physics for gravel. I could be wrong but gravel there is normal tarmac physics. DR2 has real gravel. Graphically it could be similar but physically not a chance. Like I said, I could be wrong. FFB is different thing, DR2 is rather bad what I've heard.

Yeah, I am not sure when it happened but current GT4s are amazing. KTM XBow is great too. It's just you can give it a chance again. I was very surprised how awesome it is.

Interesting change was in ACC too. I had big problems with the physics and they really changed it. :D So both games are now like other sims.

It's all about those "Forza" tires. Any Tire set with better grip than "sport" or racing slicks takes away any realistic grip level. The "Forza" labeled items is what makes the game arcade. Just don't use then. The game is more fun without Forza Life anyhow.

Regarding ACC and the update... driving the Porsche 911 Cup or Cayman GT4 in ACC at Oulton Parks lets you wonder still, whats wrong with them in AMS2.

The wheel rates for those cars is adjustable in ACC correct?

Yes, and we all know that AMS2 has a damper problem with those cars. In particular, not enough rebound in the rear. The Cayman GT4 is a whole different model anyway, but even the standard stock Cayman 2.0 does RL not feel so unconnected to the road like its represention of a GT4 MR model in AMS2.
