H shifter neutral setting

I'm running a TH8R shifter with my T500 wheel
When I put the stick in gear and then return it to the neutral position it stays in gear.
what am I missing in the set up.
Is there a hold button for gear option I have to select while using the H shift like in race 07.

Perhaps you have a mapping for Neutral? I remember having this issue, w/c I believe was resolved after I removing it.

 

No I have not mapped the neutral to any input device.
maybe I need to ?

 

You have installed the software for the shifter and set it up in there first right?
I had the same problem and I think that it was just that I hadn't correctly set it up in the first place.

I just went through and reassigned all the controls in the game for the 4th or 5th time today
and it's finally working.
now let's see about it after a restart.
