Is it possible for the system to fail to register a laptime ?
I just improved by a couple of tenths, but there's no such lap to be seen on the board.
I'm quite positive there was no cutting warning during my lap and the lap was registered in my hud
as my fastest lap for the next 10 laps, while i was still on the course.
I then exited to garage and checked the leaderboard, but my lap wasn't there.

    One more thing:
Why isn't the TT session saved, so that we can inspect the laptimes/sectors ?

It happened to me as well. I think that when we fail the speed trap, the current and the next laps are invalidated.

That would make sense although it would be nice to have a message, the other thing is the sector times become very messed up.
I can be a second up and as I cross a sector time it jumps it 0.2 behind in red.
    This gets very confusing.

Also when track is loading my time shows the faster time.

Aha, yeah, that might be it. Improved again, but once more no laptime in the charts.
Don't recall if i missed the trap on the lap before, but it may well be.
It's a thin line there (literally, hehe), you can lose a lot of time if you drop the speed too low.
Fantastic when you hit the perfect 160, but a big blow if u miss it on a fast lap. :)

The two or three times it happened to me, I didn't recall missing it, but I couldn't be sure as well. I tried it again making sure I don't miss the trap during the session, and it recorded my faster lap every time.

By the way, the Ford is miles better then all the others for me. Give it a try! Detached front ARB.

Cheers, man, you were right. I'm in a TT mood and had to give it a spin right away. :)
Love it how the trucks all have different (handling) characteristics.

Which one is the ford? Does it have a badge?

    Edit - I found it

Better late than never. My fastest lap from last week's time trial.

Anyone have a handle on what the optimal wing settings are for the F3 at Spielberg? My trial and mostly error approach isn't getting me very far.

I believe I used the maximum front wing and a rear wing of 22 or 23 when I set my lap a few months ago. Physics could be slightly different now, so I don't know if this will still work.

After a lot of attempts, 24 front 16 rear suited best the rest of my setup. But I still feel far from top times... I like the different physics theory.

Anyone else feels like T3 (immediately after 1st split) is in need of adjustments or am
i struggling with that corner due to lack of FFB ?
Just can't get get it right...either the car is prone to spinning oddly or i can get the power down.
Feels like i'm losing huge amounts of time there. Need to go so very slow to not upset the car.
Increased the coast and it did help a bit with the traction, but then i was overshooting/understeering
    in other places :)

Yes it is tricky for me also but then I'm also slow everywhere.
The issue for me is Oversteer in the slow corners and understeer in the faster ones.
If I got every corner right I'd still only be in the mid 1:25's I don't see anywhere I can make significant gains.

I miss not being able to see other drivers ghost laps it can be really surprising to see how others take a corner.

Yes, a detailed lap time comparison/analysis tool is missing.
A TT mode needs this. RL teams have all the data and we need it in a sim too. :)

But, considering it's the last stride for AMS, a ghost lap would do if there's any
    dev time for it atm...
or maybe the option to select a laptime from the leaderboard and have it set as the delta

I too would like to know more precisely where and when exactly I'm losing or gaining time.

If it's getting a bit too much for you, have your say in which track will be in next week's slightly more light hearted combination.

iRacing has some good third party tools to show you your gain/loss over a lap compared to a reference lap. It's something that seems to be missing from all the other sims.

pCars has a fantastic Ghost car system, (I agree it isn't third party)
And AMS, like other sims, can make use of MOTEC
