Hi, i've downloaded the game demo to see if my pc can handle automobilista 2 in VR. Problem is, my performance settings are not saving. After i adjust them and restart the game my settings go back to default. I'm running windows 11 and onedrive. Apparently i should have an automobilista folder in c:\users\[my username]\documents but that folder is empty ... I'm wondering if it has something to do with using onedrive as all my documents are in c:\users\[my username]\onedrive\documents instead. I've tried the usual, running as admin, verifying game data, reinstalling and running as admin without defender enabled but no joy. Any ideas?
You're probably on the right track… to me it sounds like a lack of write permissions on folders and/or files. Just exploring other possible sources of the problem: Does the username folder in c:\users\ contain characters that are not a-z, such as containing a space or accented character? I've read that this can cause strange problems.
Thanks, it has cap letters in it but apart from that ... I'm wondering if perhaps the demo maybe doesn't allow us to change settings. I really want to give this a go but i'm not prepared to drop £35 on a game that might not for me.
Yeah, I don't know if that's the case with the demo. Unfortunately I never had the chance to try the demo, since it came out a year after release and by that time I'd already bought Automobilista 2 so I couldn't try the demo.
I have encountered the same issue as @Midge Every time i restart the performance settings go back to default. Ive googled it and people seem to have issues with windows blocking the app, so ive ensured controlled folder access is off but my problem persists. Other settings such as controller input seem to save OK it just seems to be graphical settings, ive checked out nvidia controls and cant see anything obvious there. Ive checked one drive, documents, Automobilista 2, graphicsconfigdx11 and notice the folder modified time changes, but when i relaunch the settings are same?? Im running Windows 11 and have a decent PC capable of running this game well. I wanted to try the game before I purchase it but now I don't want to buy the full game in case I have the same problem, does anyone know if this is just a problem with the demo? Any help will be appreciated, thanks
It could also be you don't have the rights to the 'my documents' folder or so. or something else. Or everything is on read-only somehow
