Hype for weekly update?!

What do you mean by "last time"? When was the hype not deserved? V1.3?

Also, coming from you, this makes me think that Reiza might have done something for multiplayer...

You can simply read it as "weekly hype for update" instead, and sleep should become easier

Nah, Reiza's trends tell us its about 2 weeks from announcing the month long delay, and sometime next month they're release about 1/3rd of the DLC, and by Christmas we should get it all.

Still better than Derailing Valley 5 days before releasing a update going... "yeah we need at least 3-6 more months"

 

So I'm starting to suspect that Renato thinks he's within that timeframe as long as the July dev update arrives before late September...

Yeah I know. The plans for 1.4 as far as I know them are beyond ambitious and after a pretty decent run of meeting deadlines, I think this one might be too much to reach until the end of July - but as always it's gonna be somewhere along these lines, maybe around the first August weekend.

Which, of course, is absolutely fine if it then delivers.

I do think it'd be nice to at some point actually know what exactly to look forward to, because that's how you truly get the hype going. I'd even say that'd be worth another day of delay, but then again I'm not Reiza.

For example, I think the Argentinean track pack would have gained more traction if it hadn't just dropped unceremoniously in an RC build.

 

Agreed. Imo marketing is an area where Reiza fails at, teasing new content & features a few days before release would help get people hyped. They've already teased one of the tracks, it would be great if released teasers for the other tracks and cars at some point.

 

Problem is last time they teased anything the cars never came out, so...

Reiza really needs a marketing manager

 

That's why in my post I said "teasing new content & features a few days before release". Content & features for the next update is currently being tested in beta, imo it would be great if Reiza posted a few teasers of that stuff.

Imo, I don't think Ams2 is ready for a full marketing campaign yet. The game is in full development with features, tires and physics been added and tweaked all the time. When considered by Reiza as a ready product, they might market it better. Also, sim Racing marketing these days rely on esports quite heavily, so what we see as perfect marketing for Ams2 might be very different to what Reiza ends up doing, if they ever do it.
