Just to voice my vote also for larger fields. It'd be nice to have the GT Pit layout at Spa to allow proper GT grids for the endurance racing + at Imola and other places. Nords, esp is silly with extremely small numbers able to race around what is a track that has races with 40-50-60+ cars

Please let us share custom championship files. Given the amount of historic cars and the amazing real historic weather functionality, it would be so great to be able to set up and share historic F1 seasons (for example) with the races on the correct date and time and AMS2 pulling in the historically correct weather for each race automatically!

I wonder if it could be possible to auto select number of AI opponents based on class? I am often forgetting how many opponents I have set in my custom AI files for various classes, it would be nice if we could set "default based on class" or something, and it uses a sensible number for that class or better uses the number set in the custom AI file.

You might be surprised when the update 1.4 goes live today. ;)

for the soloplayer, the number of liveries available has been added, which is appreciated. Wouldn't it be possible to be able to save the desired number of AIs per class? This would avoid wondering how many custom AI I have for this class before each race.

    You can do so:

    1. Set number of opponents to " Manual Grid"

    2. Now, "Edit Grid" is not greyed out anymore. Klick on it and there you go:

    Cheers!;)

Dont really know if in reality GTE cars have fuel mapping control onboard but in endurance races is very usefull.

What's the point of multi-class race when they're not competitive? I tried them and speed pass every single one of them....since I am driving Ultimate Formula Gen 2. So, I have to resort to the same class for that reason. Same with driving the Formula V10 Gen 2. If I drive Formula V10 Gen 2 going up against Ultimate Formula Gen 2, I have no chance to beat it either.

Wirhin a single class, you can choose your opponents easily by editing the custom AI file for this class. No Problem.

@Renato Simioni When is this feature finally coming to AMS2? It is so inconvenient to switch from H manual transmission to sequential in AMS2. If you use a Fanatec Wheelbase profile you have lost anyway with a sequential shifter.

You just gotta delete or mark out the entry for the drivers you do not want to participate and then ingame set right number of opponents.

    Edit:
Example: Imagine, you wanna have a race with GT3, which has 26 liveries after latest update and you want only 20 certain AI to participate.
Create or download a Custom AI file for this class including all 26 cars.
Then unmark 6 cars (the 5 AI you do not want to have in race + the car you want to drive in order to avoid double liveries).

    How to unmark/hide livery:
    Open your CustomAI.xml with notepad.
    Replace line: <driver livery_name="McLaren 720S GT3 #27">
    with: <driver livery_name="<!McLaren 720S GT3 #27">

In game, choose your car and set numbers of opponents to same class/20.

Make a backup of your original file before, so that you can just copy/paste it back into game folder when your race is done.

Sounds easy but there’s always more to it then that. There’s simple steps that aren’t explained because people who know how to do it assume everyone knows the basics, but the layman (I) do not lol. Now, I’ve built 5 pc’s and my challenge is always the very technical side. It’s like some people who shouldn’t ever touch an electrical biz lol

I know this request is not that high on the agenda, and it isn't game breaking, but it would be nice to be able to sort out the double/triple liveries in a race without editing the xml files.

Actually it seems that selecting "max available" gives me what I wanted :) I have just needed to delete some of the "Bonus/extra" cars that were included in some livery packs, and then it correctly sets a 24 or 20 car grid depending on the class (and therefore F1 season) that I select. Not sure if this was a new feature in 1.4 or not but I'm happy !

I have been thinking about this further and really think this should be an easy addition for a big benefit in making unpredictable and realistic races, where tyre/pit strategy comes into it more as well. The hard work on the LiveTrack and the weather engine is already done! Could simply be a new line in the race options underneath weather slots, that says "Weather slot duration" and is either "Equal" or "Random".

I asked very early on even before any release of AMS2 for setup screens to be like they are (or maybe were if they have changed since the new UI) in RF2 where you can compare the current one to previous setups available in a list to select from. As a former coder, it is not difficult coding to do this. I would love to see a feature like that which properly supports what is such a time consuming and technical activity especially for serious racing league interests.
