Hi all, I was thinking of updating to win 11 but for those of you that have done so did you have any problems or performance issues once doing so? If you did were the issues sorted?

I am on AMD ryzen 9 and nvidia gpu.

    Cheers

First thing you should look into is if MS has 'repaired' the taskbar. That was the most annoying thing about W11, but it performs AMS 2 well, tho. I briefly had W11, but then went back to W10 due the taskbar.

What was the problem with the taskbar?

Literally everything. People couldn't move it, customize it, no previews, no using smaller icons, and all that. It was just sitting there in the middle, etc. I think its better now, but how much better? No idea. W10 taskbar is perfect.

I have not yet noticed any problems with Win11 appart from the fact that it does not look like Win10 and some destop functions don't handle like before. It reminds me a bit of that times switching from Win98 to XP, skipping ME.

Well, Windows 11 is not far off from Windows 10, just a bit of reskinning and more "telemetry" tools added that require accepting new EULA so no better way of enforcing that as a new system release. I remember Microsoft assuring all of us that W10 is the final Windows...

Not much space to get things fundamentally broken and this thread confirms it - it works relatively painlessly, but that's expected given the scope of the changes.

    There, rant over :D

Runs flawlessly for me. Everything else is working for me too like Crew Chief, Second Monitor, wheel and pedals etc.

If you use your PC for more than sim racing, I.e. for productivity, there are some nice improvements in the way you dock windows, switch windows, desktop switching etc.

As someone who codes and generates a lot of documentation and research using multiple screens, it’s quite an improvement and I’m more productive with it.
