The Goodwood Festival of Speed.
This year celebrates the 50th year of the BMW M series.

With the M1 Procar. In Ams 2 (Beta) this week having the latest tyre upgrade amongst other changes, we can confirm the car is a pleasure to drive.

The first car to be sold with an M badge was the BMW M1, designed by Paul Bracq with final touches by legendary designer Giorgetto Giugaro. Launched at the Paris Motor Show in 1978, the mid-engined coupé featured a 277bhp six-cylinder engine taken from the 3.0 CSL and was capable of 165mph.

Fanatec CSL DD WRX steering wheel lights gone to hell!!
general Q for anyone else as well
Only noticed last night after using RC build.
The problem I mentioned on the wheel : Having no rpm lights and also no Gear led is weird.
beta version ok works every time and N shows as soon as game loads up (normal)
Main NO lights
RC version no lights so checked
ACC no lights
RF2 No lights
PC2 no lights
back to Beta and lights good.
Manual update of wheel no effect
test leds in fana app ok.
Thoughts anyone?
Probably the last weeks windows sh-t update messing behind the scenes.

 

Glad Gros is still around after the fireball!! cars split into 2 pieces (Monaco)
dangerous but safer these days.
Simracing can be addictive esp when sim improves 24.7 /360
Time to fire up the pc chip box and have some fun.

The Americans come over and run the short Brands Hatch club circuit still reaching speeds arounds 170+mph. (1 of 2 British held rounds of USAC)

Yes, for me its never had any interest or appeal, I have watched some over the years but personally find it boring to watch and the cars are tron like in the sim used and general.

In the vid he seems to have a point.
I know some in forum like and have talked of watching esports, and the mentions a while ago about Rennsport, + esport and ams2, so it made sense to post it here, for those interested.
I do recall the playstation 'thing' some years ago and it was nice to see young simmers get to race with good results, in real life series after all the esport eliminations.

Pit dug for new self build/fabricate garage and s/h 4 poster ramp. If the ramp could speak it would tell stories of tens of Ferraris and classics including Maserati Birdcage. the previous Owner was a Lord!! that fell out of grace. Ebay bargain

 

I LOVE , i mean L.O.V.E simracing but i have NEVER watched and esports event. cant imagine anything more boring..

 

GT Academy was always an interesting watch. I never watched any of the e-sport portion but I always enjoyed watching the on-track show. It never lead to anything amazing though, the only driver that was able to keep a motorsport career was Jann Mardenborough, who is ironically a simulator driver for Formula E currently after a mediocre racing career.

I think the issue most of them had is that they were not ready for the commercial side of racing. They just wanted to show up and drive and that only works for the wealthy. Everyone else needs to work hard off track to keep/gain sponsors to stay in their seats.

 

Ha yes that was it. Some time ago, just had a look at the wiki and some achievements were made and respectable.
Was an interesting watch at the time and good to see, it also must say something? about the Grand Turismo game. I recall some fun with it and a controller.

GT Academy has turned video gamers to racing drivers over a period of months, and NISMO Athletes have competed at international car racing competitions since 2009.

At the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Lucas Ordoñez finished second in the LM P2 category in 2011 and in 2013 finished third alongside Jann Mardenborough (2011 European winner). In 2014, Wolfgang Reip recorded the first ever all electric lap of the Le Mans circuit, driving in the Nissan ZEOD RC.

In the Blancpain Endurance Series, Jordan Tresson was winner of the GT4 class in 2011. In 2013, the Pro-Am cup was won by Lucas Ordoñez, while the Pro-Am team cup was won by Nissan GT Academy Team RJN, which included Jann Mardenborough, Wolfgang Reip (2012 European winner), Mark Shulzhitskiy (2012 Russia winner), Peter Pyzera (2012 Germany winner) and Steve Doherty (2012 USA winner). In 2015 Reip was part of the team that won the Pro Cup.

GT Academy Winners have also competed in the Dubai 24 Hours, FIA GT Series, FIA World Endurance Championship, British GT Championship, FIA Formula 3 European Championships, British Formula Three Championship, TRS Single-Seater Series, IMSA Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge, SCCA Solo National Championship and the United SportsCar Championship. In 2012, Lucas Ordoñez competed at the Petit Le Mans in the Nissan DeltaWing race car, and in 2014 began racing in the Super GT Series, class GT300, with NDDP Racing . In the same year, Jann Mardenborough began racing in the GP3 Series with Arden International, and at Motorland Aragon raced for the first time in a Formula Renault 3.5 test. In September 2014, Nissan announced that former US GT Academy Winners and finalists would be considered for Nissan's new LM P1 Le Mans 24 Hours and FIA World Endurance Championship Team.

On 8 February 2015, GT Academy graduates Wolfgang Reip (2012) and Florian Strauss (2013) teamed with Super GT driver Katsumasa Chiyo to win the 2015 Liqui Moly Bathurst 12 Hour at the famous Mount Panorama Circuit in Australia driving a Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3 for the NISMO Athlete Global Team[5][6]

Mardenborough's achievements since winning GT Academy saw him named as one of the 50 most marketable athletes in the world by Sports Pro Media.[7]

In 2016, Nicolas Hammann became the first GT Academy graduate to compete in stock car racing (both Gran Turismo 5 and Gran Turismo 6 had featured NASCAR Cup Series cars) when he made two starts (all on road courses) for Mike Harmon Racing in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. Hammann made further road course starts in the Xfinity Series in 2017 and 2019.

 

This British car collector is not your average, the cars in question are very special.
