Refuelling on custom championship

I have recently been trying to do custom single player championships. Unfortunately, when pitting to refuel, I sometimes see the fuel bar is red and no fuel is put into the car. This is happening at random on tracks at random. It is really spoiling the enjoyment to a point that I am thinking of going back to ACC. I really enjoy AMS2 but this refuelling problem is ruining the game. Anyone else still having this problem or know how to solve it? I am doing the correct set up and pit stop strategy etc.

 

I ve been reporting the erratic pitcrew logis as well ( tire, fuel) but unfortunatly until now no change or fix on it.I ve Asked for a kind of wiki about the Logic as reiza posted for the Clutch to at least try to adapt on what is designed but no luck There neither.

 

It is very annoying, to say the least. They likely don't care.

 

I don't think they don't care , I think they have other s priorities but I agree this is annoying especially when running on VR and you cannot easely access the ICM to manually manage you stops

Usually I select my pitstop Strategy before the race start. I have defined others Strategy : nothing, fuel only, tire only.
Then I can sélect the optimal one regarding the race.

I.e. if There is a race with rain coming I Usually sélect tires only and set enough fuel for the entire race to minimise the Time in the stand or select Nothing if There is a mandatory pitstop for a 6-10 laps race with clear sky ( Usually takes 5 sec but I Seen you have made some change on this.. not tested yet).
I always request manually the pitstop during the race, with CrewChief third party app I got the message this is requested then a bit later the Crew is ready waiting for me

What was the annoying is Usually when rain Comes and enter the pit for tire change ( tire set to auto, usefull for a race like dry, wet, dry) .. my expérience shows even the track is full wet ( but not flooded), the Crew at pitstop does nothing , had to Do one more lap go un again then they Will eventually change the tires for wet. I remenber happend on Monaco with F1 gen2.

What happend once also on one of the brazilian track, stock car 2020, I went in last lap for fuel as I didn t had enough to finish the race ( default pitstop setup, everything enable) and they did nothing .. was not able to finish the race as I didn t had fuel refilled.

Again I m playing the game VR exclusively, because it is so great, I rely on preset Strategy, accessing ICM during race isn t a viable option.

At the same Time you can also only select one Strategy that apply on all pitstops but this could be a Nice to have on a whish list for longer and complexe race.
I believe that pistsop Strategy is part of the race and unfortunatly until last game release was basic and unreliable... Again this is a personnal opinion, not a complain.

I did some test this morning with single player race and it worked very well.

Setup : Monaco track, formula V10 gen2, 4 wheater spots ( sunny, cloudy, rain, rain with strike), 8 laps, pitstop mandatory, fuel for 4 laps at start.

At laps 3 rain began, 2-3 turns befor pit Entry , requested pitstop.

At pitstop fuel was filled to finish the race, wet tire were put on, small repair was done.

Was very cool !

I noticed the following :
- the very last option when you setup a race is to allow refuel during race, by default off... Maybe this was your issue Dave.
- I Will create a bug report for the following
-- pit Crew guy with stop panel for others players.stand in the track below the pit ( did a screenshot)
-- driving pit lane on automatic mode the whole image ( VR) shaking a lot until controls are released. Either you coming out of the box or you are Performing a pit stop. I don't think it was the case before the RC but I could be wrong

I Will Do more complex scénario to test but it looks promizing
