I'm facing a bug in the lasts online races I made. Built 1.4.3.3.2216avx In summary, the race is over, everything ok, I don't carry any penalties. But the game reverses the first 2 positions and counts the final result. This has happened 3x in the last 5 or 6 online races.
I've also already encountered this particular issue indeed. Not sure what it's caused by but it's happening from time to time.
Just happened the same to me but backwards. Finished 2nd 6 tenths behind the winner but on the server I was awarded the win. To compound things, I downloaded the replay, where it clearly shows that I was behind, but on the replay's results, I'm 2nd!

In my case, this was a small test race for.our upcoming league, trialling justrace dot net features, and we were only 3 cars on the same lap and quite close, no blue flagged nor ghost cars.
I have seen this happen with really close finishes, it seems to me that when the gap is really tiny it gives the 1st place to the car that is travelling the fastest at the finish line, wherever that is, it's hard to tell sometimes. This is usually the 2nd place car as they are trying to get a slipstream right at the end, so are going a bit faster. I might be completely wrong but this what I have noticed, interestingly I saw the same thing happen in the PS4 version of the original project cars.
I just remember the last race when I reported it here, I was about 0.7s in front. I got message of race finished from AMS2, the crewchef recognize my victory. I crossed the finish line and lifted off the accelerator like I usually do. I was not able to notice any anomalies.
It's normal synchronization stuff visible in many other games. Every player has different reality because of time delay.
This happens from time to time, I believe it has something to do with netcode and the peer to peer nature of the multiplayer system.
