I experienced bad stuttering with no frame drops or nthing serious. I fixed this after recent 1.3 update by recreating my profile!!

Seems i was half wrong, because just the AMSBeta is fixed. Everything is similar from the graphics-settings (ingame and Nvidia), Config.ini, FFB-settings, but can´t run DynHUD in Automobilista itself from the stuttering.

    Hi Will,
I didn't try using such a large number because I think that would basically do the same thing as disabling 24hr time scaling. If I remember correctly, "Sky Update Frames" adjusts how often the lighting, shadows, sun, moon, etc. get updated so setting that to a huge number where 1 update takes longer than your race would mean you would never see the game change shadows, lighting, etc. even though you might have time scale enabled.
Again, that's just a guess but I'll test it out today or tomorrow.

What about making it 1 or 0,000000001 or something or even 0

Lately I'm having a lag of about half a second everytime im passing start/finish in time trial intensified when I have improved my laptime. It doesn't matter if I'm using dynhud or not. Also deleting d3d9.dll has no impact. It seems the laptime is stored on the hdd.

I experienced similar today as well. Perhaps it is the setup upload?

Another here with the start/finish lag, it's really annoying.
I tried tuning off hud, swapped car and then track but nothing helps.
It's not every lap but does happen about 90% of the time for me.

Try to turn off spotter too (if you use it), maybe it works...

The lag is because of the setup sharing feature. It's being working on.

I installed Windows Timer Tool into my startup, set it to .5ms. My refresh rate is 1ms. I don't have the stuttering like I did. Still get one per lap? Another issue?

    Hello everyone,

i also experience stutters in Automobilista. Depending on the track and car combination
they happen more or less often over a lap. I get the most amount of stutters in the carts (severeal times per lap, for example practice mode with the GX380 Race at Lorinda Kart 1 at 5 pm).

I have tried different combinations of sweet FX, vsync and in game frame limit but couldn't get rid of them. The least amount i get is with vsync enabled and the ingame frame limit set to 60.

    These are my system specs:
    Windows 10
    AS Rock H270 Performance
    Intel Core i5-7600
    16 gb of ram
    Nvidia GTX 1060 6gb
    Crucial MX300 SSD
    60 hz 1080p Monitor

I also took screenshots of my settings within the game. The AA settings are set to the recommandations in the AMS manual. I have also set the energy mode in the nvidia control panel to maximum performance. DynHUD is disabled.

Can any of you or one of the developers give me some furtther tips to get rid of the stutters?

    Many thanks in advance.

    Felix

    Have you deleted d2d9.dll (147KB)?
I find that HUD TYPE=NATIVE does not stop DynHUD causing stuttering, even though it's not seen on the track.

***** EDIT ***** It's probably better to move d3d9.dll to the Desktop or rename it e.g. d3d9DynHUD.dll

Have you turned of replays? and also spotter. try with both of these off.
I would also turn movies off and shadow blur off

Stutters for me too. Is the in-game FPS counter reliable? If so, my frames never drop under my screen refresh rate. But there is violent stutter and tearing sometimes. It happens only for a moment, and then goes away.

I have tried disabling replays and spotter, no effect. I'm with i7, 16 Gb and 980 Ti, game on SSD

I honestly do not think this will ever get solved. has done it from day 1, For me it only happens maybe once or twice a session (few hours) . It is so completely erratic there does not seem to be any pattern to it. Was way worse when i had the 980 series card. better since i went to a 1080.

I've found that the type of stutter caused by DynHUD affects the Frametime, while the FPS often remains flat. See post#70 in this thread:
Stuttering issues - discussion & suggestions

Here are two of the RivaTuner graphs which show this (Race - Two laps of Kansai):
Dynhud enabled - d3d9.dll is in the main folder. Two large spikes.

Dynhud disabled - d3d9.dll removed from the main folder. Very smooth graphs.

The FPS graphs are smooth (60FPS) on both, but the Frametime graph shows two large spikes when d3d9.dll is in the main Automobilista folder.
The spikes on the graph and stutter on the screen happen at the same time.

***** The RivaTuner graphs can be used as an overlay. so the spikes can be viewed in real time when driving on the track. I like to use the AI driver, so I can concentrate on the graphs.

I have tried all of these but it didn't help. What did help was turning off the time scale as mentioned earlier in this thread. I'm not sure if stutters are gone alltogether but i no longer had the massive amounts of stutters at Lorinda Kart 1 with the GX380 Race at 5 pm.

Time of day also has an effect on the amount of stutters when timescale is enabled. There were more at 5 pm than at 12 pm.

    Btw. what does movies do?

Some tracks have video clips playing on billboards around the track. This turns them off
