Can someone do me a favour please, try the Gen 1 and 2 Retro in helmet or cockpit view and see If you're centralised to the in car dash and wheel. I seem to be offset to the right even though I'm lined up with my monitor and trackir is reset. Were these cars designed offset back in the day? Thanks
Which car? Cars like the M23 have an offset wheel to make room for the shifter. In the BT44 you can see a "bulb" on the righthand outside of the cockpit for the driver hand even so he can use the shifter. So offsets are a possibility indeed.
Yes, that one has a highly offset steering wheel which is something common with some of these older stick shifter Formula cars.
Folks, the offset wheel in some old formula cars is perfectly normal. It's not the driver head being offset it's the cockpit construction.
It feels a bit weird with the wheel not lined up with your head but I supposed you can get use to it with practice.
Yeah you can adapt to that, there is no way for the driver to allign its head with the wheel in the M23, or he would have some serious neck pain after 15 min.
I think they've been fixed since, but in early AMS2 days the Fusca had centrally mounted pedals. The driver model looked like it broke it's legs.
