The Feature Request Thread...

Request Title: Add selection of output monitor
Description: Make an option under "Performance" that allows players to select their preferred monitor to have the game running on.
Benefits: The ability to use a different monitor to play this game on specifically, without having to set that monitor as the primary display in Windows.

 

Please give us the option to deactivate the downshift protection many cars have. I want to destroy the engine myself.

 

I will add - it could be nice, if player's car reliability also would suffer from random failures (taking value from particular AI, which has been replaced in xml file)

 

Could Reiza make the forum's emoji buttons a bit bigger? Every time someone wishes that @Domagoj Lovric returns to good health, I try to press the Agree emoji and press the Thumb Down one instead. Domago must think I hate him!

 

Not so much a request but a question, Can grid sizes be bigger or is it a limitation of the madness engine ?

Yes it should be but some of the tracks we have can support much larger grids.
I find places like Nords and Spa quite lonely and if they ever bring Le Man bigger grids would be much better.

 

Request Title: Add a "load host's setup" and "use player's setup" to multiplayer and single player respectively.
Description: Adds a "load host's setup" option when loading a setup in multiplayer so any driver who is not the host but is in the same car as the host can select this and their setup will override with what the host currently has loaded as their car setup. Similarly in single player, forces all the AI in the same car to run the same setup as the player. Furthermore, the host should be able to enable and disable this as an option in multiplayer settings.
Benefits: Very useful when playing with new players, specifically with friends or casual league races, as it allows other players to quickly load a setup without being dictated one or having to back out to time trial to go save one for every track.

 

Two Requests Based on Game Build: 1.4.5.2

Request Title: Ability to pause and save a race session.
Description: Anytime during a race, please give us the ability to pause the session and subsequently have the option to save the paused session so that we can resume it later. This would only apply to certain game modes of course (e.g. single-player). The paused session should be accessible if the game is restarted and/or the computer is shut-down.
Benefits: This feature would really emphasize all the unique benefits of AMS2 by allowing players to simulate/recreate races with all the features that separate AMS2 from other sims (e.g. real dynamic and historic weather, day/night, etc) and do so without forcing players to use time acceleration, which causes a lot of issues given dynamic weather. I think this would give people a compelling reason to play AMS2 over other sims (at least in single-player mode). Pair this pause/save feature with a career progression mode, which I know is a long way off, and I think AMS2 solidifies itself as the best single-player experience.

Request Title: Ability to set the number of cars with headlights rendered.
Description: Allow a player to set the number of cars that the game will render headlights for.
Benefits: This feature would drastically improve VR performance, especially when racing at night or in inclement weather. It's well-known that headlights shining in the cockpit/mirrors from behind destroys game performance in VR. I think this issue could be solved by creating a way to set the number of cars that headlights are rendered for (or some other related headlight setting). The alternative would be an optimization of the headlight rendering, but I think some sort of setting might take less developer time to implement. AMS2 is known for its fantastic VR visuals and performance, as well as its dynamic weather coupled with seamless day/night transitions, but unfortunately these unique benefits cannot all be enjoyed simultaneously without causing stuttering gameplay due to massive performance loss given the headlight problem. If this were to be fixed, it would solidify AMS2 as the best option for VR sim racers.

Request Title: Ability to change Traction Control Volume in Audio Options
Description: There's currently no setting in the UI to change the volume of the (IMO horrible) sound Traction Control makes. You'll notice that you can mute everything else and still hear that TC noise. The only way to mute it at the moment is by replacing the "RevLimiterTC" bank files with empty placeholders.
Benefits: More-comprehensive volume settings and a more-pleasant experience for those who use TC.

 

Would like just more comprehensive audio settings in general

 

Request Title: Banger Racing game mode
Description: With new modes and car classes in the pipeline (eg. adrenalin), how about a banger racing mode, similar to Wreck Fest, where the racing includes liberal contact as a legitimate part of it. Short tracks, even just one little oval track would be enough, although a pack of a few would be better - perhaps on different surfaces.
Benefits: Fun. Show off and make full use of the extensive damage modelling the game offers. It might attract some of those prone to T1 mishaps out of the main race lobbies into more suitable ones.

Request: More than 20 cars on certain tracks (e.g., Historic Spielberg 74 and 77)

Description: Currently, no more than 20 AI cars can be included on certain tracks. Since grids have more than 20 cars on most categories, it cannot accomodate the whole field.

Benefits: Having a full field of cars to allow for greater variety.

 

AMS2 already have this mode... is called "online mode" lol

Not sure this has been mentioned but, recent conversations regarding car-sounds reminded me of cars featuring different driving modes including variable actuated exhaust valves.

Change driving mode, get a different exhaust sound. Probably way easier to do in RL than in games, though.

Request: Add "year" to car info.
Description: Self explanatory.
Benefits: I've been asking for this for some 5 months now. I know you guys already read it somewhere and I hope you have this planned for the future. This would be a great addition, especially to identify those generic Formula cars.

Request: Custom racing rules presets.
Description: Give us the ability to create our own custom racing rules and save them. Example: I'm organizing a championship with certain rules. Mandatory pit stops, 3x fuel and tyre consumption, 15 minutes qualifying, 30 minutes racing, etc. Let me save this preset and name it as I want.
Benefits: Even more agility to create online lobbies, especially for championships and stuff.

Request: "Browsable" Time Bar on Replays (PT-BR: Barra de tempo navegável nos replays)
Description: The ability to skip to any part of a replay using the mouse, instead of using the fast forward function.
Benefits: The PCARS2/AMS2 replay system is a pain in the a*s for content creators. I myself spend a lot of time searching for a specific moment and capturing it different views. Assetto Corsa replay, for example, is a much better tool in my opinion and I'd love AMS2 to have something similar.

I agree with All these things, but the last one I think is an issue. Apparently, the last one can’t happen due to something with live track, but if you could save replays as a common format then it would make everything a lot easier
