    I've been waiting for this one. Glad to see it's on its way. Be good to see an actual Goodwrench livery as well.

    As a Paint.net user I'm wondering if it can be used for specular and fresnel maps? Any tutorials out there on how to do so? If not what tools would I need to create those maps?

    Ps. If anyone knows how to add a banner so that it is visible from the inside, please write to me in pm. I've tried like I did with the Porsche 962c, but it doesn't work, so I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

    I mainly use Paint.net because it creates less clean up than both GIMP and photoshop...

    This post is relevant here...
    AMS2 - User Livery Overrides

    My method for Paint.net is to start with the paint file and make sure that you have layers specifically for matte,metallic or chrome, as well as logos and other parts you want a different effect, then duplicate the paint file and then edit the specific layers for what you need...

    For the spec file for chrome I use the brightness slider in the colours tool marked as "V" in HSV... Usually bump it up by 30-40%... For matte on the spec I use 5 in the V and flat black... Everything else should be a shade of white... I use the HUE/Saturation tool to remove colours and make it white... Then I use the brightness/contrast tool with 25% less brightness to take some edge off the logos so it creates a little difference between the paint and the logos...

    The frensel file is simply a case of making everything that isn't chrome white... The chrome areas need to be made black, so I again use the HUE/Saturation tool here... The important thing with fresnel files is they have to be in BC1 format with absolutely no transparency...

    Exit out of the garage, click on another car, open it in the garage, exit out, re-open the car you’re working on. The game just needs to reload the images is all.

    Anyone have an AO layer for the Camaro_GT4?
    It's not included in Reiza's template.

    I thought they weren't needed for AMS2??? They aren't in any of the templates I've downloaded for AMS2...

    I was wondering the same after I asked the question. Perhaps their rendering engine generates its own AO. I know an AO is needed for best results in Assetto Corsa. VRC includes an AO layer in its Auriel 90 template but that could just be a carry over from its AC version.

    No worries, glad I’m not the only one wishing there was a better way. Hopes for the future since Reiza said they’re planning to make things easier for modders, hopefully resources for skinners are a possible part of that.
