Automobilista 2 Mods!!!

Anyone here know whether mod tracks will ever have the full weather calibration and LiveTrack similar to the original tracks from Reiza? Sugo does not, but I am not sure if that is temporary or because it can't be done (yet) by modders.

 

I dont think it can be done yet but i will ask.

I hope Reiza release a Le Mans DLC like they did with Monza, Spa, etc. A full package with the current circuit plus an historical version (could even be the PCARS2 version, it's not a bad one).

I hope modding will become a thing in the future. The Formula Indy mod was the reason for me and many people to be more interested in using mods in this game. Yesterday I installed a bunch of tracks and cars from the PC Modding Team website.

 

The door was originally pushed open by that team... Without them there'd be no Indycar mod or any potential for scratch made mods in AMS2... Without their translations for the physics I doubt Thunderflash's mods would exist in their current state and I certainly wouldn't be able to understand the hex coding that is involved like I do now...

There's more doors to open to get AMS2 modding up to the level that rF2 is at... Which should be possible with the right documentation and tools... AMS2 will never be AC in terms of modding, but the potential is there to be on par with rF2...

Just gave Brno a quick go, and all the garage doors are shut and you get damage trying to drive through them? If you skip session, you can start a race fine though. Great track!

 

Same here. I had to turn damage off in order to drive out without damage. But once out of the garage everything seemed fine.

 

Have to turn Penalties off though. Track limits warning and cancelled lap every time you come through last corner in Test Day. Also, in race, quite often have to continually give back position, even with a 100% legit pass. BTW, anyone seen this?

They do mention on their page to turn off track limits, which was the same for Sugo

Yeah, I did see that. Hopefully they'll sort it out, eventually, and get the AI speed up. They're not worth racing on at the moment. Even at 120% still only takes a few laps to get from middle to front.

There was a content manager for AMS2 on RD for a brief second today... But that got taken down as well...

I think the problem is the needed bootfiles. If Reiza would have a way to either make it possible without them or deliver an alternative, stuff is going to be taken down. It's a grey area somewhat. Wish RD would host the mods but can understand there might be some legal stuff in the way.

 

So for someone that has 0 programing skills, what exactly are the bootfiles and why are they the root of most of the issues modding the Madness Engine games? Is it some kind of hack to the games?
