Blue FLAGS are Urgently needed to avoid running online races

Too many bad drivers <1400 and lower are constantly blocking on purpose people that are 1800+... really annoying, especially when they make you crash while you are fighting for podium.

 

Yes i agree that 'flag rules' need to have meaning and bite. I propose that this rule enforces all flags such as yellows, double yellows, meatball and blue flags. Also have a sub-option for GP/endurance/off for blue flags. Lobby owners who dont want this can turn all these rules off.

 

League racing makes this a non-issue really...

Racing with people you have to talk to the next week makes a big difference to the quality of racing...

Random open lobbies really can't be taken seriously... There's always a yahoo or 2 and there's a high chance of some fool coming on with a terrible ping making the race a warpfest for everyone...

 

I want the ability to race online when I want... not in scheduled league racing where many don't have "rating" turned on. So my initial request remains intact.

 

And what would enforce the lapped driver to comply to the blue flag?

Just like with yellows, when nobody lifts. Public lobbies are trashy by nature.

 

its not just about whether you trust the other drivers in mp. Sim racing is essentially role-playing as real racing drivers and some people will want to authentically experience the rules of motorsport, in the same way that the visuals, sounds and driving experience are replicated,

 

The rating system is broken and causes stutters...

It doesn't make the racing any better... In fact the stutters actively make it worse...

@roszman Suggestion for racecraft...

1. make the time local (base on user profile time zone).
2. Default Sort by the soonest race.
3. Change Date to May 5 or 5 May to accomodate all international users or user locale settings in browser.

 

@roszman Also, please keep the messages into a logs or something where the user can recall them. There was something showing on my screen but accidentally clicked on something else, and they disappeared without being read.

Also, the race sorting order, is not "sticky" and has to be reset each time you go back to the home page..

I am aware of some UX shortcomings, I will make it better, but for now I want to stabilize the platform to accomodate for almost 1k new users who joined RCO over the weekend

Over next months or years RCO will eventually get better UI/UX.

 

I made my first race using it! just 6 guys on race but the system works very well, I like it.

I Just recommend the server name a bit shorter, it makes easy to find my session by the number.
Like: "RCO - Serie - Race number:XXXX"

 

I guess the true issue hereby is, that some people have way to high expectations from video games, particulary, the human counter (co) players in online scenarios. I grew old with very nice singleplayer games or LAN parties that I have fond memories for. The grief and grumpiness came with online
multiplayer games, open lobbies in particular.

I don't have such problem when using RCO...

 

You want realism? Your wish has already been granted. I can't recall any driver who was substantially penalized for igonoring a blue flag. I do recall countless examples of faster, leading drivers complaining about backmarkers who would apparently yield for everybody else except the complaining driver in question.

Of course, slower drivers who punt leaders off the track while being lapped is another matter, but that ought to be penalized just like any other racing incident involving contact.

 

They have their own rating system and don't use the game ratings though don't they?

I meant the in game ratings... They cause stutters and most leagues don't need them anyway, hence league events don't use the ratings...

 

RCO servers have AMS2 rating turned on. So people can work on their rco and ams2 rating at the same time.

There's a known glitch with the AMS2 ratings that causes stutters for some... If there's reports of stutters on the servers that would be the first thing I'd suggest to turn off...

 

I've never had an issue with the rating on...as you note, it is "for some"
