The Workshop Thread: What are you working on?

Unfortunately, the Ferrari 641 mod I have been working on has been canned. The model (which I bought in good faith, but perhaps stupidly) was stolen from ASR Formula. I noticed this (too late unfortunately) and contacted ASR to verify. They have been cool about it, but I've removed the images above and discontinued the project

 

No sad option to react to this, but it's very heartbreaking. For the project to not go on, and for you that in your good faith, got scammed.

Ah, crap. Is there no way to reach a deal with ASR? for example, you complete the mod, sell it on their website, split profit half and half? Or ask them for a price to buy the 3d model from them, and maybe we could try something like a donation box, and try to raise the money?

 

That's bloody awful man, those are the people I have some of the least respect for, charging for stolen content.

 

Thank you, that's a generous thought, but I doubt they'll want to sell their model - so there's no need for anything like that. I don't know about collaborations for now. But don't worry, the 1990 plans will proceed without the 641 for now - and we'll see what else is possible further down the line...

 

Try contacting them out, see if they agree to a collab or ask if they can give you permission to use the model or if you can buy said permission with them.

 

I'm in touch with them, but I haven't decided whether I want to do anything like that, and they may have no interest anyway - so we'll see. I don't intend on buying any more models from anywhere for the foreseeable (though I got a refund from the site I bought that model from and the stolen ASR stuff has been taken down, so that's something )

 

I guess it wouldn't hurt to ask them

Great news. I can imagine the work needed. I know your plan is not to make the full 1990 field, but maybe would it be possible to focus on some of the underdog / prequalifying teams? I would love to try to race with an AGS , a Coloni, or who knows, even with the infamous Life!

What model in AMS2 currently would you use for the Life? (Has to be non-DLC)

OMG, Wow! Full f1 seasons are as rare as rocking horse s#@t, especially in the sims I want to play! This is what I need, full season not just one or two cars skinned. Epic KAOS!
