As the subject says, Automobilista 2 is freezing if my CSL DD is powered on. I have tried multiple drivers with no change. If I have the wheelbase on and start AMS 2, it will freeze and the Reiza Splash screen. If I leave the wheelbase off the game will load normally and everything works normally, but will freeze once I power on the wheelbase. I have deleted the Automobilista 2 folder in My Documents so it can recreate it. Re-installed, verified integrity. There have been no Windows Events logged. The wheelbase is not connected to a USB hub or an extension cable. I have no issues in other sims/games. AC, ACC, RF2, RRE, PC2, PC3, etc. Any help is greatly appreciated!
Hi Racinglegend1234, when the game freezes it never triggers a bugsplat or any other error log. It will stay frozen until I stop the game from Steam or kill the process. Very much stumped at this point.
Hey, have you checked if your driver and wheel firmware are on the latest version? There are other reports for other games like Forza Horizon 4/5 that show issues with game freeze and were solved by backrolling the driver software. I use a CSL DD myself and i'm on most recent driver/software though without any freezes. Also check your Windows energy management settings to provide Windows always having powered USB ports appropriately.
Can we try something, just for the sake of narrowing it down. Remove wheel rim from csl dd and see if it will hang. Try it in "compatibility mode" instead of native (green led instead of red). Speaking of, which rim do you use, do you have any accessories plugged in it (pedals, shifters, erc) - unplug these just to do tests. Boost kit or not (gathering data here)? I also have csl dd, use it among other wheels, it is permanently connected and mostly powered up, never had this in close to two years. (Various firmwares and drivers)
Indeed it is yellow. (I swear i could identify it as green ) Never seen "proper" green lit there, don't have any rim that is xbox compatible.
I very much appreciate the help everyone. I will try update and try to respond to everyone here. I am using the boost kit, I have upgraded to Driver 451, wheelbase firmware 1.1.8.5, motor firmware 1.0.3.2. Wheel rims: OG Formula V2.5 , OG BMW GT2 and Porsche 918 all up to date. I use Fanatec Inverted pedals, however they are connected via USB, not plugged into the wheel base. They don't hang the sim while plugged in without the base powered on but they are unplugged for testing right now. I have an Aiologs sequential shifter and a TH8 H-shifter, again no issues there although they are currently unplugged and out of the equation. I have tried all of the wheels rims I have with and without compatibility mode with no change. I have not tried yet without a rim connected. I will try that when I return and report back. Thanks again everyone!
Sorry for the delay in getting back. I wasn't able to test early this AM. This issue is now resolved, albeit an odd workaround to get there! I appreciate your suggestion to try without a wheel rim attached as that started me down the right path. I was able to load into the menu with only the wheel base attached. I then connected the formula rim and calibrated using the CSL DD profile. After restarting without issue, I connecting my Fanatec Inverted pedals I was able to calibrate them as well. I have no clue why AMS 2 was not happy with any wheel rim being connected to load up but it certainly was. Odd bug that one. Would you mind marking this Solved? Thanks again everyone!
I had the same issue with any of the three rims I had connected: OG Formula V2.5 , OG BMW GT2 and Porsche 918.
