    Hi,
Any chance to improve the performance in VR with Pimax 5k+? I couldn't get Fixed Foveated Rendering to work, neither with Vrpefkit nor with Open XR Toolkit. Also, I have to enable Parallel Reprojection, since AMS2 doesn't natively support angled screens, so I lose 30% performance.
    Thanks in advance

I did get Fixed Foveated Rendering to work using vrperfkit when I tested it a while ago, and while the performance increase was significant, the result was so ugly that I had to give up the attempt. Objects with transparency such as trees and fences were culled and would start blinking in and out depending on the headset orientation.

I do see a comment that FFR only works with NVidia RTX and GTX16xx cards - maybe you are running an AMD graphics card?

Here is the settings in vrperfkit.yml that I used in my test attempt:
    Code:
    # Fixed foveated rendering is achieved with Variable Rate Shading. This technique is only
    # available on NVIDIA RTX and GTX 16xx cards.
    fixedFoveated:
      # enable (true) or disable (false) fixed foveated rendering
      enabled: true
      # configure the end of the inner circle, which is the area that will be rendered at full resolution
      innerRadius: 0.6
      # configure the end of the second ring, which will be rendered at half resolution
      midRadius: 0.7
      # configure the end of the third ring, which will be rendered at 1/4th resolution
      outerRadius: 0.8

I'm now running my Pimax 5k+ with all graphics settings at minimum, except MSAA which is set to Low. That allows me to run my Pimax 5k+ in native resolution and Normal/Small FOV with a steady 90fps on my RTX2070.

Im just curious - but how does it look?
I know immersion are on top in VR but what about the picture quality with these settings?

To me it looks just fine (similar to iRacing/RaceRoom, etc.), but many people will prefer that it looks better. Maybe it's not good enough for Javier Pro. For me it's "good enough to not care". I did try an HP Reverb G2, and that was more efficient so I could run higher graphics settings. But in the end for me, the wide field of view of the Pimax is so addictive that I will happily sacrifice some graphics quality in order to get a smooth framerate, instead of running with PiTool setting at "Potato" field of view.

Thanks Roar, but it doesn't seem to work for me. FPS does not increase and the log (vrperfkit.log), differs from Iracing.
The last line in AMS2 is
12:26:36 [14236] Loading DLL at "C:\\WINDOWS\\system32\\dxgi.dll" at start of game,
and in iRacing it continues logging until I close the game.
I have an RTX 3070, and with everything maxed out it gives me about 60 FPS at normal FOV and 100% SS. It looks amazing though.

I agree, a wide FOV is the most immersive. I have a Quest 2 and the difference is huge
