CSL DD Race Ready P1 Bundle for PC

I noticed, it can be clamped to a tabletop. As I sold my whole rig due to space shortage after I moved to a small apartment I’m looking for a more compact setup for use on my Xbox Series X and my “older game PC, i7 with a 1080 GFX card” I really miss my sold setup and miss racing, big time.
So my question is, what are your thoughts on this setup on a tabletop? Is this a safe solution, it is a DD setup so there are some forces involved here.

I use the CSL DD with 8 nm on my desk (IKEA Galant height adjustable) with no problems. Table top is 2 cm thick. Maybe it depends on the sturdiness of the whole table.

@Bull Shark I don't know, mate. I once sold my entire rig due a quarter life crisis. Then almost 2 years later I went back to Simracing with a wheelstand-rig, but it only frustrated me. What I would do is buy a whole package on marktplaats and see if you like racing still without a proper dedicated rig. If you like it you can sell the cheap rig, if you don't liek it you can sell it as well :D Once you have raced a real simrig, downgraded will only make you sad or frustrated.. Well, that's my experience.

5 Nm is a negligible force - I can't think of anything that could possible make it unsafe. Despite being DD, it has less torque than Fanatec's old belt drives.

Yeah that is right indeed. I believe my sold CSW v2.5 was 8nm if I’m correct. Forgot all about that.

as mentioned above, the CSW v2.5 is 8nm. So 5nm is easy peasy of course. Perhaps a bit to light..

haha yeah perhaps you’re right about that. Don’t know. I really miss sim racing but don’t have the space nor I want to spend money on a multi thousand dollar rig. So I have to choose between nothing or a bit less than I was used to.
Bought an Xbox series X, great of course but racing with a game-pad is to far from a wheel. Although Forza 7 is playable with a game-pad.
My PC is still in da house and recently I updated all the software etc, but once looking at AMS 2 I feel the need to hop in a GT3 car and start racing.. again with a game-pad no success.

perhaps save a bit and buy the CSL DD 8nm after all.. haha there we go again. Once you’re infected with sim racing you never find a cure…

    thanks for the reply guys….

Ok, I just ordered a Fanatec CSL 8nm DD with CSL pedals and load cell brake. McLaren GT3 wheel and. Next level racing stand. Not what I’m used to but best I could buy for use in my little apartment. Beter a bit less than nothing at all. :DHope for a smooth delivery. Although the DD base is not sooner available than April first. (Let’s hope it is not an April fool)

I have the 8nm DD, it's good but an absolute side grade from my older CSWv2. A little disappointing for me that the DD feel wasn't much of any change from the Fanatec belt drive.

Really? Sorry to hear. I know the CSW v2.5 is 8nm as well. So power wise it does not change indeed. But I presume the DD is a bit smoother in feeling than the belt driven CSW v2.5. And it is smaller of course, and more silent if I may believe the reviews. that is not a bad thing.
That said, for me it is not a side grade as I sold my CSW v2.5 a few months back. Speaking of selling things, I really got a good price for my whole rig. Never thought I would sell it for a such high price as I did.
One thing, I won’t sell the new gear. I now know how much I like sim racing… :D

Ps: how is the McLaren V2 wheel? I had the v1 but due to a lot of problems and after I received a 2nd one, they refund my money. I really liked that wheel so I ordered the V2, hoping that this one is from a better quality.

Well just noticed this little vid,

Indeed, it won’t Blow you out of the water if you’re used to the CSW v2.5.
But as I don’t have a wheel base, it will be fine for me. And I don’t want to spend 1000 or even more on a DD wheel. I like simracing but not enough to spend again a couple of thousand euro’s on a new rig, nor I have the space for it. So I will be very happy to have a lesser setup and be able to race again. Tried it with a game-pad but that is really a no go for me.

I was hoping by now Fanatc or someone would have a adpapter that attches to the Honeycomb desk mount for yoke and throttle. The clamp is a major pain.

Lol, for just a little bit more you can buy a complete DD Pro setup atm. But I hope you can sell it anytime soon. :D

Hehe, I know, but it's still a very durable and amazing base.

Have you thought about the playseat challenge? I live in a tiny house and it's perfect for my csw2.5. It takes 2 minutes to set up and about the same to hang it on the wall out of the way.
Super comfy as well and no need for a butt kicker as the vibes from the wheel go straight through the seat, super immersive in vr.

Yes the v3, they are hard mounted to a plywood base and zip tied to the tube. Very solid with zero movement.
