Weird disk write issue

So i recently bought AMS via Steam and upon doing so it got to 98% installed and suddenly gave a disk write error. Not to do with storage or anything like that but it had an issue of where the "CustomSeasonTool.exe" could not be written to the disk. I have tried every suggestion via steam and even tried reinstalling. Nothing worked.

It's a weird issue that i feel only i am having. It's not antivirus related or anything and i made sure of that.

Never completes no. Gets stuck at around 98%

And it's no security issue. Everything was off during installation so there shouldn't have been an issue..
And yes it is always with the CustomSeasonTool.exe

 

Here is the exact error message i get by the way (note i have tried every option steam has given but it's been no use)

 

Try closing steam, launch it as administrator and than install AMS.

Literally every option that would come to mind has been tried.

It's now the weirder ideas that need to be used

 

Is it a disk space issue?

Steam downloads a game into a separate folder (steam/steamapps/downloading/), usually, then transfers that to the location of choice afterwards (steam/steamapps/common)


Maybe at 98% there is little room for any file movement and its getting stuck perhaps.

 

I have 20 gig of free space either way. i made sure i had enough for two installs in case we had issues. i've even freed up more...

Maybe it could actually be a widescale issue for certain people. or it could just be us two :/

I also have this issue. Bought the game yesterday and Avira quarantined the .exe file which I now recovered and flagged to be ignored but when I want to continue my download it immediately says disk write error. I tried uninstalling and installing again and it gets stuck exactly at the same point which is 117mb. Any help?

 

I cleared Steam's download cache and restarted my computer and the download continued. Will update if the problem occurs again.
