I dont know if this was a topic in one of the dev updates some times ago or not. I didnt read them all, I was just watching AMS2 from the pits most of the time and really entered some months ago. So, with Project Cars 3 basically dead and so I guess no new Madness Engine: Will AMS2 stay "forever" as a service game or are there already plans for AMS3? Do we know when the DLC support will end?
There is no end in sight yet for AMS2. I remember in the 1st AMS2 backer campaign Renato mentioning 6+ years of active content and support if the game proved successful enough. After over 3 years of development I think it's fair to say we're gonna have at least 3 more years
My guess is that AMS2 will be relevant for this whole decade. Especially with v1.5, it is is an incredible base to expand upon and improve incrementally for a good while.
Honestly they're only just starting just now, when we finally have a base to calibrate the other stuff to ^^ Game will remain woefully incomplete anyway until I get Montjuic Park
We have Adrenaline pack and Racin' USA pt4 coming this year, Le Mans and endurance content coming in 2024, there's additional parts for Supercars, Historic tracks, and Brazilian racing legends, factor in the delays that happen with every content release, that probably means we'll have AMS2 updates until at least 2025. Imo it would probably be easier for Reiza to get the most they can out of AMS2 and Madness engine than to start over on a new game on a new engine, so that means no AMS3 anytime soon.
It has a great base to build upon. The grapichs can hold up for 5 years at least. creating a new title does nothing than segmenting the community.
