Thanks for coming back everyone! I just understood, indeed it was the class limitation that the game can support, you were right. I removed 2 mods and it works. Thank you very much.

Are mods like the F-40, 959 and the 250GTO installed with the Mod Manager supposed to crash frequently?

They eventually work, but most of the time they crash at the load screen for the session. Some other mods crash less, but all use to at their own rate.

Mods are not created with a SDK, following strict predifinitions.
Its just hacked content of other cars, some values are changed on bytelevel with hexeditors.
So we never can be 100% sure that everything is perfect. ;)

I don't do much modding but i would love to be able to create tracks. especially dirt tracks with jumps and stuff.
    Just my thoughts.

Yes, a track creator would be brilliant. I'd try and recreate the tracks from the old classic Stunt Car Racer.
    Imagine that in vr!

With dirt racing coming in v1.5 I only dream on Ams2 becoming the new Mecca for rally competition if only tracks mods where available

Does anyone knows about an up to date livery pack for Formula Classic Gen3 (1990 season)?

The one in Race Dept don't work anymore and it's the only F1 season in AMS2 that don't have RL liveries (EDIT: I just forgot about Formula Retro G2 that is also missing, despite having three RL cars and only one generic).

    Abração!

Way off topic here, but there is a full 1990 skinpack (and backmarkers addon mod) being made - it's still WIP. There's one preview here.

Remembered that the V10G1 also don't have a working version anymore.

I saw it on the other topic, but couldn't make it work. Will just wait for a more up to date version or pack.

Will you upload it on RD? It's beautiful. Thank you!

Yes, it will be on RD when it's ready. I'll post some previews elsewhere on this forum.

I saw lots of discussion about mod usage but not much on mod creation.
I'm looking into creating rallycross tracks since the adrenaline pack came out.

I'm more interested by racetrack than cars, and I would love to find information on how we can develop custom maps.

    - What workflow can we use to create maps ? Blender -> Export -> AMS2 converter ?
    - Can you share some specification for maps ? maybe tools that you internally use ?
    - Can we have access to the asset library and use it in our custom racetrack maps ?

In a more general point of view, I think if you want to encourage modding two main keys would be :
    - Documentation and content for modders
    - Handle mod installation (why not adding a mods marketplace so you can ensure that mods are good quality and does not interfere with your DLC plans) ?

You are basically going to have to reverse engineer a lot of this... No different to how the original car mods for the Madness engine were done... As track support isn't in the plans for now...

We definitely need more documentation and references for specifics on how things are handled in AMS2 differently than other Madness engine titles... Reiza just might need to hire someone to do this on a contract basis as they've got a lot on their plate for a small dev team...

when will we have custom sounds? I really want to modify the sounds of some cars that are repetitive.

Looking back to 2007 and present, rfactor still holds thousand of players and there is still active modding scene...

car modding is made game have an enthusiast community but, track modding is the key the game trully have diversity... and it's easier to avoid copyright abuse since there are no absolute official trademarks (like cars manufacture) were exploited/abused

    [in my opinion]

All we would need would be an AC to AMS2 car/track converter :p

Fun aside I guess a good tutorial on how to create a new car (and maybe track) from scratch would probably be most beneficial for now.

w/o the right tools to have access to parameters that are currently changed by trail and error in binary files its hard to make an easy tutorial.because this can change with every update.
