1.5 Arcade Racer now

What the hell have they done with this great sim!
the cars feels like an arcade racer now..
tested indy 2023, gt3, gte and f3
makes no more fun in the moment
what do you think?

All the cars feel a lot better now, but what don’t you like?

 

i feel like they are no more sliding like before..
i drive full speed in the corners and i dont have over or understeer like before!
can´t explain it better in english, but in the steam forum are people with the same impression like me ....

 

So the car is controlled and doesn’t behave bad? Doesn’t seem like an issue to me

How many high-end or super cars have you driven on a real track at the limit? I have taken 12+ cars on tracks and I can assure you that you don't know what you are talking about...

 

Are you an iRacing user by any chance? or Perhaps Forza Horizon?

 

Maybe the problem is that they are slightly sliding all the time now - but because of the exaggered damping of this sliding you cannot exactly feel it.
If your description was correct then everybody would be able to drive faster now.
But if you use the TT LBs as a measure then everybody are 2-4 sec slower pr lap.
Not exactly what would happen if this sim suddenly was arcade easy to drive.

ByTheWay: If the cars are so easy to drive as you describe then take any of the cars out in TT on your favorite track and then top the LB. And comment back. OK?

I like both - AMS2 and iRacing and THAT comparison is very weird.

 

You are missing the context. I'm specifically referencing how slippery the tyres in iRacing and Forza Horizon which is perhaps the reason why the OP is thinking there is too much grip in AMS 1.5. It all depends on the person's experience with other sims sim or in real life.

I drive Group C cars exclusively and i definitely feel they are way too easy to drive after the V1.5 update. In the Porsche 962, i can hammer the throttle down in 2nd gear on corner exits without losing control, which is not realistic for a 700HP car. I don't have to modulate the throttle carefully as i did before, it feels like having 50% traction control now.
Even the Sauber C9 feels way too docile, and that one is a 850HP monster.

 

Do you have IRL videos which says you’re correct?

 

That's a Mercedes C11, with improved aero and drivability compared to the C9 we have in game.
Note how careful the driver is on the throttle around the corners. He is applying 50% throttle while turning, and only goes full throttle in a straight line.

 

And can you show a video of you in the C9 around the same track in similar conditions?

 

My main complaint is about the Porsche 962, which is the car that i have tested before and after the 1.5 update.
You can test the car yourself, even in 1st gear the engine hits the rev limiter before any wheel spin occurs, which is why for me it feels like having some kind of traction control (which is of course disabled in my game settings).
If this is realistic behavior for a 700HP car for you, i really have nothing else to say.
