Something weird happened to engine sound

Hello.
Guys, I have noticed some weird change in the audio mix which was not there before (I mean like one major build before or something).
Cockpit engine volume is low and muffled, even in openwheelers with high rev screaming engines... and there is something new in the mix, because every my session ends with nasty tinnitus (I have been suffering from that for 30 years, but AMS2 never kicked this in before for me like it does now).

Valve Index native audio, all the volume is set like I have been setting it for 2 years.

Anyone else notices this? For example GT1 engines sound really awful now.

 

Heh, again this speaker thing. Valve Index works like another soundcard, with its own settings. I also have another soundcard, for buttkickers. And main audio output (mobo onboard) is set to stereo anyway (Windows Mixer is total ****).

But from your info I guess its a kind of conflict between your windows settings your Index AND your MB sound.
I have a dedicared sound card myself and to minimise problems I have set the MB sound "card" to off in bios.

 

I hadn't had that issue before, though. It came with 1.5 beta... and persists with stable build too.

 

Yeah I understand.
But because you are the only one reporting this my guess is that it has nothing to do with 1.5 upd.

 

I actually read a couple of comments about muffled sound before.

OK, solved it. Stock sound drivers (Asus ROG Strix Z790-a Gaming D4 board) sideinstalled some crap. Completely wiped it and used these optimized drivers... sound is clear and back to normal mix.
