How to remove an assigned key? Also, a bigger issue

I've got a thrustmaster T300rs, standard 3 pedals, t8ha shifter and an arduino-based usb handbrake.
Have read that using 'extra brake' key can mess up ffb and steering and it seems to have done that for me this week. Now I can't figure out how to remove the assigned key for a few reasons... the steering doesn't calibrate properly (100 and 180 lock) and whenever I try to assign or change a button then the steering seems to be generating input. For a little while, it did seem to mess up my brake pedal as well.

Any help with either of these issues would save my week.

 

Have you tried using the backspace button when assigning the button or assigning that button to a different function?

 

yep. just goes back out of the setup controls menu

 

Ok some progress. I’ve got the tm16000 flight controller and throttle. That was what was going haywire with inputs but now assigning controllers will recognize anything but the steering wheel.

 

Seems like switching to a custom wheel and setting up got everything working. Something is messy with the way keys are assigned that means multiple thrust master accessories cross communicate. My problem solving process was booting up content manager for AC and looking at which ones were going crazy. I think it’s sorted for a race test tomorrow. Still can’t delete assigned keys though…
