Here's a lap on Curitiba in the McLaren MP4/5B, it should not be too hard to beat as I only did 2 laps, it's Friday night, there's beer... and just used default setup.

I expect you to go sub 1 minute Hamti, make it happen!

    It took some time, but
    IMG_20231110_204742__01.jpg
Changed only steering angle, brake bias and brake power...and fuel.

It makes a difference how many liters you carry. Maybe not in top speed or acceleration, BUT weight balance is different and you can generate more grip.
Take the Porsche RSR '74 and reduce the fuel. The car has less grip on the front axle because it is lighter.

You can see on my answer that I also doubt the fuel amount doesnt matter.
And in the small following conversation I dont confront the slightly stubborn postulate ;)
But my personal conclusion is that eventhough I also does feel a difference with low/high fuel - then I also know that placebo does actually work.
So Im not really sure what to think...

Our debug tools don't either and i can assure you, fuel is forced to 5.0 Liter and tank position and loads are responsive to that ;) (believe me when i tell you, i've checked myself various times after Bruno brought it up the first time so we don't run into another "why does the diff doesn't work" situation :p)

Any gain you feel via fuel load change in TT is merely placebo, you just feel more confident with that number :)

It's a real shame that the Web Leaderboard as used in pCARS2 has still not been introduced in AMS2 after three years. The information you could read on it was very important. Driving aids, whether an H-shifter was used or just paddles, whether manual shifting was used with the clutch - all this information says something about the quality of the lap time. And finally, you can see when the time was set. This was a great and valuable addition to pCARS2. Why we still don't have this is a mystery to me.

I can confirm that. This means there is no different weight distribution or more grip. Everything is exactly the same

This discussion does only show that even when people does actually READ that placebo works then their feelings does often resist it when they have some experience that supposedly contradict it.
Its proven by several tests that a strong gut feeling is very facts resistent.
Even AFTER people have been told about it:)

Remember when i insisted on that the diff settings would actually do something back then when we had that discussion? Then it turned out that nothing was happening at all :D

    It happens very easily.

    No I dont remember.
Because I didnt participate in any discussion about diff settings.
    At least as I remember.
In that discussion I was only posting something about changes of car behaviour in TT sessions dependent of fuel.
Here is a quote of how I concluded my position in the discussion - OK?

Back then we talked about ramp angles, it's a very long time ago in another thread and i wasn't believing that they don't lead to the desired outcome when being adjusted :D (And i was wrong due to placebo)

If you say it doesnt matter how much fuel is filled in, then i have to say i am a placebo victim. My fault.
    I am not Copperfield...but 1:19.600 so far.

Hehe actually thats not a fault.
    Because we all are.
I know a few things about this - and the funny thing is that all medical companies does also know.
That as example the colour of medicine pills and tablets does influence on their effect.:D

That’s what I’m looking for. I’m new to sim racing (I don’t really see F1GP & F1GP2 as real sims in todays context) and I’d like to know what is possible…

I dont think that i can show you what is possible in a Formula car. I am not that familiar with these cars...i dont like them, except the Formula Junior.:)
There are faster drivers, but not everyone likes to do hotlapping.

    Update...

    Well done, Sir .

This makes me kind of happy and sad at the same time because it proves a point. Being new to AMS2 I was a little surprised on how easy it is to beat those time trial records. Your time is a clear indicator for A. there's lot's of headroom for improvment (setups/experience/...) and B. there are fast drivers out there who are just not interested in doing time trials and/or formula cars.

For the sad part, if you're new to the game and after a few days Reiza deactivates the time trials, combined with the fact that there seems to be little interest in those "old" formula classes (online racing) makes it kind of a dull affair (for me personally). Now I'm no longer sure whether it's worth investing in a DD and/or VR equipment for this game.

Thank's for putting up the effort.
