General AI Performance Discrepancy Reports (No Discussion)

F-Junior is too quick on the straights relative to the player, gaining a couple tenths on every single straight around Südschleife, where I noticed this. No timing screenshots for the time being as I don't really see how they would help with this.

(Difficulty reduced to 102 because I just couldn't keep up otherwise)

 

They are also extremely fast on the first sector, ok on the middle and slow on the last. I was able to get the pole with at 3:08.7, 4 tenths faster than second place at 108%. But on the race it was impossible to shake them off, mainly because of how insanely quick they are at the first sector and I am still very inconsistent on that track.

VIR Full you did GT1 lap time of 3:08? This can't be right.

 

You got my messages mixed up, that one was about the F-Juniors at the Sudchleife.

 

This AI fastest lap is from their first laps, where I couldn't manage anything more than mid 25's and lost two seconds a lap (more because the AI kept harassing me from behind). After 17 laps, my pace has improved by a second (some of that maybe is track and braking point knowledge) while theirs has dropped off by 3.

I think actually the AI would be better if they didn't drop any pace with tire wear than what they do now. In the beginning of a race they completely destroy the player, then they get painfully slow.

 

A lot of work to do again, all these are on the same difficulty (110) and all these are good laps on default setup, the worst one is probably the F-Ultimate because I think default setup doesn't work that well around this track...

 

Your "worst" time is still well ahead of the AI and your better times are dramatically faster. Probably need to bump up from 110

That being said, I get about the same range of results as you when testing random series.

Did you try the "base line" series SC 2023?

 

I tried the Corolla IIRC, but yes, the first picture is SC 2023. Probably should have told what it was. The F-ClassicG4 one was achieved with Model 2.

I'm not always faster than the AI btw, in the Caterham Academy I could only manage a lowly 6th a second behind the leader :/ F-UltimateG2 was also quicker than me.

The issue is also that I regularly lose 10-15 seconds to them in the first 3-4 laps and then think I have to lower difficulty...

Yes, I have also experienced some of the AI dropping speed noticeably after too-few laps.

 

Formula Vintage Gen1 are slow at Barcelona 1991. I'm doing 1:55 laps without pushing whereas the AI @100% are doing 1:56-2:00 laps. They're particularly slow exiting the chicane at T10 onto the little straight down to T11. They're also a bit hesitant in the first part of T3 (there's a point at which I nearly always have to lift off to avoid running into them) and brake a touch early going into T4.

 

1960s Mini Cooper @ Gateway. I usually race the shorter of the 2 Rovals and the AI @100% are slow going through the mid part of the final turn on the oval part (T3-T4). I can just drive past them lap after lap, gaining at least 0.5 secs here every lap.

 

Copa Uno @ Brands Hatch Indy - the AI have a habit of running wide going into the final long right hander up the hill (Clark's Curve), making overtakes on the inside a gimme. If they stuck to a tight inside line, they'd force you to go wide and so have a much tougher time trying to overtake on the outside.

 

The acceleration adjustment seems to have helped slightly, but it seems the AI are missing 1 or 2 kp/h compared to the player. Also, they're braking significantly too early for the Bus Stop and especially for T1 where they lose around half a second to the player on 115 difficulty.

 

V10G2 AI is still far too slow compared to the player. This is 115 difficulty and I'm leaving them in a dust like I'm exclusively racing Minardis.



Also, if player loses launch control, he will gain 5-6 spots off the line because the AI are VERY slow there.

 

Heavy rubber. I didn't do quali, but did a couple of laps now.

In quali it's a tiny bit closer, with me beinga bit more than one second quicker than the AI. This was done on a green track.

 

The AI at Imola is pretty bad. They are so impossibly fast around most or the corners and they brake much later than the player can.
I was in the macca gt4 which I don't normally drive so I thought I would try the Porsche instead. Finished quali in last place, 4. 5 secs away from p1. Had I done the full 15 lap race I would have finished last.
That was with the AI set to 112%, high Aggression.
Also, the AI out lap in Quali is too fast and as you approach t1 when coming out of the pits, other AI also coming out of the pits will crash into the rear of your car.

Then for comparison sake I went to Barcelona still in the Porsche gt4, same ai configuration. Qualified 18th, 1.8 from the leader.
Finished the 15 lap race in 12th, but I was the fastest and first Porsche to cross the finish line.

 

I think you might be just too quick in that class or your baseline is close to 120. The AI is pretty competitive against me in my baseline of 108 at Interlagos with the F-V10G2.
