    My T300 base has never turned ffb off because overheating.

    Now I have a bit modded base: replaced original noisy fan to noctua and added cooling holes to case.

    I have no problems with T300 100% gain.

    Maybe rim wobble can occur loosen bets.

    My 2 cent.

    In your files, gain plays a role in FFB curve, not just amplitude.
    Perhaps you can change that, freezing df_compression and free the users use gain as a pure gain slider (the game will use that value as a mutiplier).
    Your base file was designed to use wheelbase at is maximum and adjust gain in game to achieve the desired force, compressing the signal accordingly.

    In my files, gain is just for signal amplitute, and as long as it doesn't clip, adjusting gain in vehicle-specific setting, game gain or on the wheelbase has the same effect, although their should be setting with different goals in mind.

    However, I do agree about limiting wheelbase's max torque/power best practice, that's safer.

    Don't forget we have vehicle-specific gain, changeable while driving. No need to change the overall gain for each car.

    With Default/Default+ it's not wrong.

    With custom files, depends on the file your're using (see my post above).
    Custom files can do whatever they want with GAIN slider (like inverting FFB, amplify car rotation info, change kerbs vibrations, as a power steering control, etc., etc.) but the game will always use that value as a multiplier after the custom file.

    See this as a reference but keep in mind it refers exclusively to default profiles, custom files can do different stuff with those sliders (and often they do!),

    With my TS-PC, I felt at about 75% the wheel starts to round the output (software clipping control), like 75% does 95% of force and the other 25% left only contribute to the remaining 5%, leaving that large non-linear zone. So I used that wheelbase at 75% achieving overall better feeling/detail (with no real detectable ouput power loss).

    No software can go behond hardware imposed limits. If the sim sends a 100% signal, the wheel can only do 100% force, not more.

    Thank you Joachim for your observation. Yes, there are different ways to customize a file and also adjust the settings to a base and ultimately combine it with the in-game values. My goal has always been to make it as easy as possible for all people, regardless of their base. Even for beginners who would otherwise be completely overwhelmed. Select file based on base strength (maybe test 2 files) with recommended in-game settings and recommended base settings for different bases. I think this is very easy for people and it is possible for everyone to find the right file in a short time.
    I've also already told Karsten that I won't start over again because things will continue down the rabbit hole. I just don't feel like doing it anymore because the files work wonderfully well for me now. I'd rather drive now and enjoy Ams2.
    It's completely okay if other people carry on or try and test new things. For me personally it is no longer necessary at the moment and I can enjoy the simulation:)

    With my files (and defaults ones), GAIN slider can be any value you want, no impact of FFB other than amplitude ("strenght"). Simply a gain function.

    My considerations about @Danielkart 's files was just as a reminder that premise applies to his files (and others from the same root), by design (it's not a fault or vice).
    Although, it's not a general rule and doesn't apply to default profiles or other custom files.

    But even with Daniel's files, it's only a matter of changing the line:
    Code:
    (df_compression               (power (max 0 (* (/ 1 0.6) (- gain2 0.4))) 1.5))    #calculated range 0-1. 0 is result for gain 0-40%. This will keep DD bases at compression of 0, when using high output on the hardware.

    (df_compression               (power (max 0 (* (/ 1 0.6) (- 0.62 0.4))) 1.5))    #calculated range 0-1. 0 is result for gain 0-40%. This will keep DD bases at compression of 0, when using high output on the hardware.
    (replace "gain2" with "0.62", as Daniel recommends that slider at 62, will free up GAIN from this "limiting" factor)

    This is a graphical representation of df_compression function.
    As you can see, a small change in gain produces a big change on the transfer function.

    As I have already described above, there are countless ways to combine the custom files and the base settings and the in-game settings. It would confuse people who are used to my customs and it's my way of sorting the files just like you have your way of sorting it. For me personally it is easiest to increase or reduce the gain directly on the base while driving and in the end it is the same as yours. In addition, these are recommendations from me and that doesn't mean that there can be another way. And if a user doesn't want it that way, he can set up the controller to his liking without having to change anything in the custom file

    After testing, I prefer your latest custom ffb. It is SOOO alive. I enjoy how input sensitive it is. The wheel reacts to acceleration or braking and then I react to what the wheel does. It all feels very intuitive. It is totally different way of driving. I do try with levels off ffb in the game or through SimPro manager; also experimenting with various steering angles; the 2002 ti, for instance, is more responsive at 1080 from what I can tell.
    I loved the 1.5.3 update but your latest offering turns into a totally different sim. Makes me want to try just about every car/track combo I can imagine, but the twisty, bumpy ones are becoming my favorite using your ffb. Curious to hear if you are others experience the same input responiveness I'm getting.

    im interested to hear what wheel combo you’re running .

    my rig has Just had a massive makeover, including replacing my old custom adapted Thrustmaster 28cm plastic rim , with a proper solid Simagic GTS 30cm rim .
    The difference between the two rims and the feel is quite a lot. so I’m playing around with a few things in the file while I’m trying to tune my fov and other elements ( including myself back into racing after a month off )

    the old mostly hollow TM wheel was over sensitive to details , than what a solid high quality wheel is . It’s not at all surprising, but the magnitude of the difference is more than expected, and the muscle memory of a larger wheel also takes some getting use too.

    First of all, thanks for all your work guys.
    But... I am so confused what to use! I have a new wheel, Moza R9, anyone with the same wheel could give an opinion on which profile they find it "better" for this wheel?
    I know that in the end is a personal preference, but some first guideline would be much appreciated!

    When I upgraded my tm stock 28 cm rim to 33 cm sparco mod, I got much better feeling.

    That 28 cm rim feeled like toy car.

    Kuku maddogs (in the post above yours) file is a good place to start, the new one from Karsten (a few pages back) is also excellent. try a few and see what you like. but give each one a good few hours even of it feels odd to start, it takes awhile to adjust to each one.
