My monitor is capable of 120fps but currently I run it locked on 60fps

You should be good to go @ 120hz with max settings during daytime running.

At night in rainy conditions with a full grid you may need to drop a setting or two down a notch, but overall I can't see you having any problems with that combo.

Thank you , The alternative was the Ryzen 7 5800x3d but the Intel should be better

so I have a 13600k and it's great I certainly believe it is any kind of a bottleneck in terms of AMS2 but if I were still playing something like DCS I would rather have the 5800x3d, the 3d v-cache really makes a difference there.

That said I have never seen a comparison between it and 13600k or 13700k in AMS 2 so I can't comment on whether it would have a meaningful impact.

I would honestly try to save (if $ is the issue) and go with a 7800x3d, you would be able to upgrade it later without changing the mobo and its a better CPU overall. The Intel will do fine though, I just upgraded to a rx7900xt from a 3070 and the difference is substantial, 60+ more fps in most games at 1440p. My cpu is an Intel 12700f and the lower it gets at night with rain in AMS is 116fps right now.

Thanks , money is not really an issue fortunately however I don’t want to go nuts as I only use it for sim racing and being married I like my balls attached to my body.
I came from console to a PC a few years ago with a 3700x and a 5700xt and whilst this manages well and I have most things cranked up I wanted to upgrade to keep me going for the next 3 years. Id like to set a budget of around £2500

If you want more longevity, then you should wait for the new super line from Nvidia, the 12gb memory from the current 4070ti is on the low side nowadays. You should also wait anyway because AMD might lower the price of the 7900xt to counter, a 7900xt for $680-$700 is good value (by today's awful standards )

Thank you for your reply , Having looked I think I’m going to go with a 4080 as opposed to the 4070ti.
