    Hi guys!
After all the many physics updates from Reiza, there was always a lot to do, including improvements to the FFB on my part. Well, there will continue to be updates from Reiza, but I now see a very good basis in physics. I won't be posting any new customs files anymore, I'll just continue to do this for myself personally. My focus will be based more on realism, not only in FFB but also with all the hardware that exists today. I hope I could give some people a different experience or inspire them to do new things. Maybe I could also answer some of your questions. I hope you continue to have fun with Ams2 but also with other simulations and this great hobby

    Take care

    Daniel :)

Hi Daniel, thanks for all your effort to improve the FFB. I had used your files in the past for a long time, because the cars felt more controllable.
I also like your personal v600 custom FFb file, but the only issue i have with it, that the FFB feels too heavy in slow corners or chicanes, where is not that much load on the tires. But i don't know how to adjust it.

Hey Daniel, you know that you can't stop experimenting, tweaking numbers and values and share with us these improvements. ^^ because you know there is no such thing as a final file. :p
I really like your latest personal file so I'm looking forward to Vxxx already :)

    Hey Ricxx!
No, I will really only continue to do it for myself personally. I don't enjoy it anymore and it's a lot of time that I could use for other things. There are enough people who will continue to do it as long as these custom files exist. I would like to thank you and all the people who helped me and always gave me feedback. Everything comes to an end at some point;)

I'm sorry, we the AMS2 forum members do not allow you to retire. :) Seriously, would still be cool if you shared some version of your personal files.

Frankly, I think in general you put way too much time and work into making different files for different wheel bases. I mean, one file for 'weaker' bases and one for the powerful 15Nm + would've been more than enough. I appreciate the dedication but that must've taken a lot of time you could've spent being 'out there' on track, maybe just dial that back a little bit so you can have more quality time actually racing and still share some of your files with us.

Yes, until Update 1.5 of Reiza it was tedious and a lot of work. With 1.5 and after it became easier and easier for me because the physics were finally right. Now I can adjust all customs in 1-2 hours after an update without any problems because physics has made it much easier and I know the files very well. I had no idea that the customs would be so well received by people. What comes next (after new custom releases) is much more complex and takes a lot of time. Lots of questions and lots of new users. I don't have that time anymore and I don't feel like it either. That's why I'm stopping this, I hope you and everyone else understands this. It was a cool time, thank you for that:)

Hi Daniel, first of all thank you very much for your great FFB files. It's a shame you're quitting. But I can understand you too.
But I have another question for you about your V 600. Where could I reduce the attenuation in your file?
Thank you and have a nice time.

Been a while since this conversation. Following up. I race offline just about every evening and some days.

I set my Alpha U, GTS Wheel at 23 nm, 50% Force, Rotation speed 100%, feedback frequency at 9, feedback detail at 5, no other effects.
In game gain is 37, LFB 1, Fx 30, Damper 2.
    Using 5.0.1 k.

My favorite combo is Retro Gen 1 at Kyalami. Again, I more react to the wheel than steer it. Actually, it is reacting to steering, brake and throttle inputs that really makes this version of the custom ffb come alive. The more modern stuff is fun, but it's often about how brave you are rather than car control.

Either way, 5.0.1k and AMS2 1.5 is a perfect match.

I forgot to add that I play with steering angles. I think formula cars, prototypes respond with smaller angles; cars more toward the street end of things do better at 1080. just my opinion though.

Hi - had a bit of a finding last night

I found an FFB file that has the steering rack force as an FFB output. This is EXACTLY what i've wanted from FFB since rFactor1's RealFeel plugin.

After reading it and doing my best to understand it, i firmly believe that every single FFB mode that comes shipped with the game has dampening and smoothing enabled. It's such a massive difference. it's superb. You feel every single bump. You can tell exactly what the car is doing. All you need to adjust is your FFB gain per car to get rid of clipping. This has honestly been game changing for me.

I hope someone gets as much fun as i'm having out of this :)

You say that you found this file, can you give more details of the files origin?

I believe this thread somewhere. I turned off the mass damper and smoothing settings and it's made a huge difference.

This looks like Default profile (not the +). A simple rack force output + low speed static force.
Other files, including mine, use that same rack force with some 'heavy' post processing.

At least for me, Default+ has mature enough to be very usable, although it can always be improved to individual personal tastes.

It is the Default, however -

Turning the smoothing and mass damper settings to 0. It makes a huge, unbelievable difference. :)

    (mass_damper ( * M_smooth_samples 0.0))
    (arm_force_smooth ( spring arm_force 0 0.0 mass_damper))
    (arm_force (if M_smooth_samples arm_force_smooth arm_force))

The game comes with these values enabled. And from ingame there is no way to turn them down. The damping setting in game does not turn off the mass damper setting so all the FFB you'd get would still be "muffled".

Thanks for the settings. I am new with DD and sometimes it is a bit overwhelming with so many sliders.
One question. Since I got my C5 pressumed that game friction and game spring were better to be kept on 100% since those effects, I guess, are comming from the game. I guess I am wrong?

The problem is I don't get any feedback from the rear axle or car rotation but the visual one. Too late for me o_O.
Also, I don't have other effects to compensate for been in a static chair at home and not in a real car with all kind of forces/sensations.

On the other end, the front axle is well represented, it comes from tie rods forces themselves (that's why my file uses this to capture the front axle component).
If you like it and you are fast with with, that's what matters the most ;). Thanks for sharing.

I think with @Joaquim Pereira FFB file the strength comes from the game, and there is no need to set it to 100% in the application, but I could be misunderstanding how it works.

The best way is to test it, I liked it better when I left it at 0% in the CAMMUS.

Yeah This is the best custom file ive ever tested. Its not too far of default but you feel the suspension a lot more and clearly

Funny for you to say that, as I felt the default+ now feels closer to what you custom is.

Bit of an update to my file as I found a bit of clipping so adjusted it accordingly.
An upside to this is it feels better.
