AMS2 - User Livery Overrides

generally the camels head is to the left of the logo under the C or just left as you look at it so on one side of car looks forwards and on other side looks to the back..
I only noticed originally as i have all the 1/18 model cars camel sponsored thru the 90s on lotus , benetton and Williams and was cleaning them and game just happen to be open on screen lol
ive fixed then in my game skins for personal use but thought the skin makers should know.

 

Thanks for the hint, I must have caught the only picture as a template where it is the other way around. Sometimes you can't see the forest for the trees
The logo is also always in the same direction so this happens quickly.

Just looked again, and there is indeed photos of the same side of the car with the camel facing front and back. Maybe depends on the model.

 

What I say here doesn't matter here as the 'normal' Camel skin features, but I just wanted to highlight the differences between that 'normal' Camel skin, and the Canadian + French GP versions.
Britain and Germany only had the Camel silhouette with no text, but for Canada, the silhouette was replaced with smaller 'Courses - Inc.' text, and for France, it was 'Racing Service'. No idea as to the actual details of why it was that way - probably some local licensing things.

 

Just noticed that Lehto has the Scottish Saltire on his 1993 Sauber and not the Finnish flag.

 

Can’t wait for those hi tech skins to be done!

So is it just me or did Reiza break all the formula helmets 80s and 90s?
i just notice as i went to turn laps in the 1988 cars that the McLarens of Senna Prost were ok so old model and the rest of the field were broken like 90...

 

Hi all

I'm trying to do our team livery for the new McLaren 720S GT3 EVO. Everyting's fine but the Spec-Map won't work here... DDS File is made out of the NVIDIA-PS-Plugin wit Setting BC3 (DXT5) with "both" (Color and Alpha).
In the XML File is a file size of 4096x4096 mentioned for base and Spec. The Template is 4096x6144.
Could it be, that this is the problem?

It is not you. Reiza changed the helmet models with one of the updates for some classes. Modders have to repaint their stuff.

 

As far as I know, 1988 has recently been updated for the new helmet models, IMG(Immersion Modding Group) are working to correct 1990-1993 also.

 

Hello all, apologies if this has been asked before, but where in the game's files are the original liveries kept? If possible I'd like to extract them to use them as a base before using the Custom Liveries->Overrides folders to then put them back into the game with the changes.

 

Have you figured out why this happens? The previous skin I made worked just fine, but the one I'm doing now just wont work.

 

In xxx:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Automobilista 2\Pakfiles\Vehicles every car has it's bff-file with all the liveries. Example: For the Camaro it is "ARC_Camaro_Livery.bff".

To unpack them, you need a tool like quickbms.exe, which you can find in the internet.

I did it with a workaround. I changed the type of livery to Chrome but put an all white spec and fresnel, so that it actually looks like a Default livery. With the Default type I was just not able to make it show up somehow...

 

Ah so thats why the first one worked, I used your XML , the second one I changed to default and its a no go.
