Caterham AI has trouble going through the last chicane at Nürburgring GP, every time I race there with Caterhams they take too much kerb and flip over. The 2 clips in the video below happened at different stages of the same race:

Here's another video from a few months ago with the same issue:

    • AI Strength setting: 100

    • Weather when the issue was observed: any weather
    • Date June 5th, 1990 (real weather used), but it happens everytime

AI is terribly slow in last right-left chicane. And with historic version in Casino too.

When doing a multiplayer race (rolling start) with AI filling the rest of the grid, the rolling start procedure has an issue. Formation lap was set to off and manual control was assigned to the rolling start, however, when when we clicked "Race" it pretty much skipped the rolling start (or compressed it into like 5 seconds) so it seemed like it immediately went to a green flag state.

The AI was also having a really hard time with the hairpin.

Pleaaaaaaaaase, finally implement proper AI-behaviour in qualifying.
Right now, they still race/block you like hell in their in- and outlap.

It is the same when they are about to be lapped in races. They won't let you pass on straights, then block you in corners and try to race you again on next straight.

    Monza GP and Monza 1991:

AI still ram each others like crazy before and in Ascari chicane instead of having a proper overtake.

When you overtake them before other chicanes, they constantly cut corners to avoid the manoeuvre.

    Qualifying:

AI leaves pits in too close intervals and because of their inability to overtake and the complete ignoring of any kind of flag rules, they build huge trains with faster cars stuck behind slower ones.
Very often, fast cars have to start from the back because of this weird procedure.

Any news about this AI behaviour in the video below?
After hitting a wall, instead of going backwards and then rejoin, they do this forward-backwards-thing forever (or, like in the video, until they get hit by another car). This can ruin longer races, when an AI is stuck on a certain spot for many laps.

He really liked that wall! Seriously though, I saw an AI do a freaking 180 degree spin to get back on the racing line after a crash with another AI in the F-ClassicG4. I had never seen that in AMS2 or any other sim for that matter, very impressive. There were no walls nearby, so maybe that kind of confuses them, happens in a lot of games.

    AI overtaking:
The AI is now much more aware of player's car than in early builds, but they still have problems with overtaking each others.

After having watched many replays, it seems to me that there is something wrong with the distance between cars.
Instead of passing, faster car comes much too close to slower one from the side, then touches the back of car in front (in open wheelers, the go for a rear tyre of other car) and lose speed that way. Sometimes, they can overtake after ramming car in front, but most of the time, it would not work.
If they stayed beside slower car a bit longer before corners with keeping distance, they might have more success in overtaking each others. But now, they move over to racing line too early and then touch opponent's rear.

A good example where you can see that behaviour is the long full blast section up to "Tosa" in Imola 88. Instead of staying beside slower car a bit longer, they go for ideal line too early and then touch the wheels of car in front.

AI has a problem at the bridge at Südschleife Müllenbach
    upload_2024-1-19_22-50-24.png
Often a car goes off track and collides with bridge railings an causes a pile up. AI has no strategy to solve this situation.

I noticed this too with the F-Ultimate G2. I think my AI aggression was max and strength was 95

AI too strong on slicks in wet conditions.
Testing a single race at Monza today with the GTEs.
    Conditions:
    Date: 9.10.1994
    Time: 7:00
    Weather: Clear
    Livetrack preset: Damp

    AI setting:
    Strength: 102
    Aggressiveness: Maximum

I was able to finish P3 in a dry qualifying session. In the race, the entire AI field started on slicks. I had no chance of keeping up with the AI on either slicks or wet tires.

The truth is that you get angry when you have a car behind you, and it hits you against the wall.
The logical thing would be for him to overtake you carefully (especially for him)

I have tried it at Interlagos, with the cars from the 1997 session (V10) and it is a shame when you go full speed, the car behind you (which is always faster than you on the straights and catches up to you) suddenly throws you into the wall

When I see the red arrows behind me, I fear it, because I see myself thrown against the wall

    AI Settings
    Strength: 110
    Aggressiveness: Medium

I've tried it a bunch of times, and it always happens, ruining your race.

    • Car / Track used: LMDh, Daytona Road Course (GT3 Gen2 were also on track)
    • AI Strength setting: 120
    • AI Aggression setting: max
    • Corner (if issue is corner specific): Bus Stop Chicane (Le Mans Chicane)
    • Weather when the issue was observed: dry
    • Date January 28th, 2024 - (game used live weather as it's a future date)
    • Tirewear and Fuel usage normal
    • Type of session when the issue was observed (practice / quali / race): Practice

LMDh AI cars lose control on their own at the Bus Stop Chicane every single lap. They either spin out of control or make it to the end of the chicane completely sideways. Copious amount of smoke in the process, can't miss it. Just follow a car for a lap.

Edit: the AI line at Daytona RC could use some rework.
Cars follow a weird line on the "backstretch" leading to the Bus Stop where they slowly drift from left to right, starting from the exit of the banking (they hold the inside of the corner instead of unwinding the steering), and finishing near the wall (the right side of the track) at the braking zone.
If the player is to their right they tend to squeeze him into the wall. Real drivers don't seem to use this line (here's a reference - video is time stamped), as they just drift to the outside right at the end of the banking.
Another issue is that AI seems to hold a very tight line at the exit of the infield section, instead of running as wide as possible and close to the wall - the corner after "T6", where the infield flows back into the banking. Again here's a time stamped reference onboard.
