I've encountered a strange phenomenon with the Model 2 in both gens, the car starts violently vibrating, almost like mega porpoising when you get up to 5th gear and higher speed. My wheel also goes side to side so strongly that I cannot stop it. Other cars in both gens are fine. It almost looks like the wheels jump so much that the suspension is not even connected to them when it happens. It repeats constantly while going full speed. I tried messing about in the setup to see if it's some kind of a setup error, but nothing helps. It happens on all tracks as well. Anyone else? Or any ideas?
I have no clue. But could it be something related to your FFB force settings? Check it out with a default setup and no FFB. I guess if it was a general probl others would have reported it.
I just thought that it could have slipped past the net since I've understood the HiTech's aren't that popular? Anyway, could be ffb, but it's the single car, all others in both classes do not show the behavior. I'll keep investigating.
The reason I responded is because on some of my favorite tracks I have reached rather high TT positions in most of the HiTech cars of both generations. So I know these cars pretty good. I cant remember if it was before/after the LBs was wiped, because I got tired that you had to manually press and hold the DRS button on some of the HiTechs. Just feels stupid - eventhough I liked the behaviour of the HiTech cars. I have never seen/felt the vibr you talk about. Be aware Im driving without FFB. EDIT: Just checked my positions in the HiTechs. My positions are not so good anymore. Because I havent been driving these cars after the 2 latest upd.
I really do appreciate your answer! Thank you . Think I'll fiddle around with my wheelbase software and test things out. Main reason why I felt like asking about this was, that it was only present in a single car in a group. Somehow I'd imagine it would be all of them if it was my FFB, but I'm definitely not an expert.
Hey just to check it out properly then tell exactly which 2 hitechs and also some of the tracks where it happens. Because then Ill check out if I also get this behavour.
Ok this is curious, I just tried different tracks and on Spa the problem is very pronounced, but at Kansai there's almost nothing. Could it be some sort of a setup corruption? I've deleted all setups just in case, but the problem is still there.
Oh sorry I forgot that. Ill check it out in Gen 1 & 2, Model 2 Williams on the modern Spa I guess. Your suspicion about influence of the used setup is correct. Hehe I discovered it when I included some extreme max settings in the fast dampings on one of the formula cars. As soon as I loaded the setup with these values the animated car I could see even when I was still in the setup menu began hopping high in the air and ended turned over. Before I was even able to drive.
Yes! I was also testing more an it's definitely hopping randomly when up to speed. Thing is I'm using he default setup and it's still doing it. I removed all setups from ams2 files, but it's still doing it. I guess that means it is a bit of a bug?
I cant agree with that. At least I couldnt provoke the same behaviour as you. I just took the chance to set a new PR in the McLaren MP4/7A on Spa 2022. Eventhough this car is not my favorite it behaved ok-ish. And absolutely none of your reported behaviour. If nobody else does report this it must be something in your system. If you cannot find the fault you can only sidestep the problem by not driving these cars. ByTheWay: I tested both the default setup and my special own
MP4/7A feels fine to me, it has no problems. My best is like 1:50.458 on Spa 2022, not sure if it's ok. It's just the Williams that jumps around like it's bewitched.
Oh man I must be either blind or stupid. I read your Williams as McLaren. Dunno why. Ill be back when I have tested the WILLIAMS 2 minutes later: No WILLIAMS in either hitech 1 or 2 series. So lets stop wasting each others time. I dont know what WILLIAMS included mod you have installed. I use AMS2 without any mods.
Well I found the problem, just in case someone happens to take a look at the thread. In the default setup the active suspension dampening is set at 10, for me that causes the suspension to go crazy in high speeds, if I lower it to 8-5 range the problem disappears.
