Hello. Recently gotten back into ams2, but I cannot play for more than 30 mins without my game crashing. It seems extremely random, there's no sort of obvious pattern, although it's always when driving. Screen will turn grey for a few seconds and sound will stop, then it will go completely black, sound will be back. I can still drive around, with ffb and everything, but completely black screen. I've tried reinstalled graphics driver but no luck. Doesn't happen on any other game
Hmm, how did you reinstall the gfx drivers? I would suggest that you try with Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) download version 18.0.7.9 to do a complete uninstall of any gfx drivers and then reinstall them
Same for AMD (7900XTX) here: the system crashes and AMS2 is the only game that makes it crash to a full stop without inputs and incl. a black screen. I do not think it is every 30 mins, but could be close. Frustrating like hell, either way! The latest beta build does it too, BTW. Something is seriously NOK. Driver version of AMD: 24.10.37.04 (Adrenalin version 24.8.1)
It's happening to me all the time – the same issue as Maarten and connor: random crashes and a black screen. It's very frustrating; I can’t even do a long race because sometimes it crashes. I have the same driver, and my GPU is an AMD RX 6800. This has been happening for a long time, and I still haven’t found a solution. There are many threads about this, so the developers really need to add some logging to the game.
If random crashes and black screen happening it could mean either: Graphic cards failure Ram failure PSU failure You can also download DDU, clean your drivers and reinstall your graphics driver again. If that won't work you can backup all your important files and do a clean OS install. If you still experience crashes I would first swap out the PSU, etc etc.
I'm not overclocking anything, and it's definitely not a hardware issue—everything is in optimal condition. This only happens with AMS2, and it’s been an issue with this game since the beginning. I’ve tested it with both an RX 6700 XT and an RX 6800, and it always happens. It occurs on both Windows 10 and Windows 11. There are several threads online where others report the exact same problem. The crashes are very random, and it seems like something in the AMD drivers with AMS2 causes the game to crash.
Running Rx 6800/ 5800X3D/ Adrenalin 24.9.1 all good here. Maybe try latest 24.10.1? Would also advise running DDU.
