As a concept, I was thinking, would it be possible to combine existing classes to one new class? As I would love to get one big gt3 class, instead of gen 1 and 2.
It is possible to put any car in any class by altering each cars' crd files. Timo Dicck has done a video explaining how to do it, don't know if I can post the link here, but you can just look up his channel on Youtube, it's among his more recent videos.
Thanks, I saw his video, but I think it only works for the modded cars, as they arrive with the crd's. I want to do it with reiza's own cars. And I can't find any crd's of those.. But I'll try and find the video again, maybe I just don't remember it.
Ah well, right. Normally the *.crd files are compressed. When you are installing a Mod with AMS2 CM, those files are being decompressed and you can edit them (i believe).
I have done this by cloning an existing class (basically modding course 101 in the madness engine consists in cloning a car). Then you can change the CRD file to the clone... or anything you want. l put Flat12 and V12 engines to Lotus 79 clones for instance, taking advantage of the fact that this mod skins Ferrari and Ligier with that model. This workaround also works if you want to have more skins than the available, just put more in the clone or use the copy to have more overrides. I doubt I am enabled to share that here, but I shared a script that does part of the job automatically in a known community discord server, but nothing new there, just follow the well-known PC2 cloning tutorial (there are newer tools to do the cheatengine part in a much less cumbersome way). EDIT: It was easy to write that, but took me some hours to figure out how to do that and I have a solid background. Not implying it is easy, just that it is doable. I imagine at some point in the future when the sim converges to a final state many of such things will be available in community sites and so.
