Hi all, I’m on the lookout for 2 extra monitors to complement my current single screen once again. I mostly play in VR, but from time to time, I want to play with all the whistles and bells. Due to a move, I had to sell all my sim hardware, and later bought new gear because I missed sim racing too much. I got a single screen (1440p 165Hz) instead of a triple setup, along with a nifty RTX 4080 and a Ryzen 7800X3D. For a while, I used just one screen, and later I bought the Quest 3—which I absolutely love. I don’t have the space to set up a full rig with an Evo cockpit like I had in my previous house, but a triple screen can easily be set up on my desk. To be brief, are there any users here with a triple screen setup at 1440p (that’s 11,016,000 pixels) paired with an RTX 4080? If so, can the 4080 handle that number of pixels with all settings maxed out in AMS2? A minimum of 90 FPS is acceptable, but ideally, 120 FPS or higher would be fantastic. I’m really curious. I don’t want to buy something my GPU can’t handle—I’ve made that mistake once before!
I ran triple 1440p with a 3090 quite successfully. Not everything on ultra, but pretty high settings. I think I had car and track on ultra, the rest on high. The 4080 Super is quite a bit above the 3090, so I think you’ll be happy with the performance. As a comparison, the native resolution on the Quest 3 (both eyes) is around 9.115.000 pixels.
Nice, with the Quest I run most things maxed out indeed. Only shadows on low and trackside on high instead of ultra. Indeed a good idea to compare those. Never thought of that.
