Hi renato, What going on with this update. Its been since march you work on this. As a consumer that buy the game because of all the hype you make about 1.6, can you share where are you on the developpment cycle ? What your consummers should anticipate for the release date ? It is November, december or even 2025 ? You post the update part 2 in september. You say we will have more news in a few day. We are three weeks ago. Don’t want to make any pressure, I just want to know what to anticipate for 1.6. I bought the game and all dlc for the present but mostly because of the promesse of what you hype us with 1.6. I am ok if reiza need more time to finish it. Its look to be a pretty massive update and I understand any delay much better than the confusion right now. Thank to inform all your consummers.

I think humanity is simply not ready for direct access to development process and this great experiment fails to meet expectations since a lot of people are constantly lured to shiny-shiny and simply don't have patience to wait. We tend to be hyped up by the upcoming and spending too much energy during the expectation stage that we're worn off towards later stages. My worry is that we'll end up with similar access to other studios where the update gets announced a week prior to release with a complete radio silence in between. I definitely prefer more open, less secretive approach, but I may be in minority. Personally, I hope that Reiza will continue as they are with this unique openness as it's such a breath of fresh air, but also a lot of additional work it seems. It's a big update (trust me) and those things take time and unexpected setbacks can occur. Think of home renovations - when after tearing walls down there's a need to replace electrics elsewhere that wasn't part of original plan. And we can get updates from the building site and insights into the work. And I get it, we all want to move in early, but it's worth waiting for the works to finish. Some people have patience, some don't. I just wish those without it would be able to control themselves better, especially that it isn't a house or a even a necessity - it's only a mere computer game.
When I decide to change electricity. I knew there was a problem. And also, It was my fault to never anticipate to doing it. I have an inspector that inspect electricity and everything before buying. All my friends and family ask me when to move on. But I know when I finish electricity. 2 maybe 3 month at max. And I can tell all my friends and family this timeframe. They maybe have a major problem on their hand that delay the release at this point. Where the other preview in « a few days » no words ???
To pass the time until version 1.6 is released, I even created an account on iRacing to race a few times. However, I was very negatively surprised by how outdated iRacing looks, and the force feedback and driving behavior were not to my liking. Additionally, the iRacing support team wanted to force me to change my driver’s name, so I deleted my account there and started playing AMS 2 again. How awesome was that… Unfortunately, Automobilista 2 doesn’t offer as much online, but we all have a hand in that by visiting and supporting servers like RaceRaft.online. Of course, I’m also excited for version 1.6, but version 1.5x is already amazing compared to the competition. In this sense… cu on track .
To be fair to the OP, he makes an excellent point about Renato telling us "there'll be more preview videos in the next few days" then nothing... silence. This is a lousy way to treat paying customers.
There are virtues in this business model, but that's not one of them. What we had paid, we already have. Future updates are "free of charge", that's where DLC enter the equation - to also support ("unpaid") sim development. AMS2 update to v1.6 is free the day it arrives, we don't have to pay a cent more to have a new sim (with allegedly some more free content). That's a virtue of this business model. I’ve already bought DLC that I don't intend to use, but I feel obliged to support sim development.
I don't think people are against Reiza taking the time to get it right or even having a break. The main issue is the lack of consistency in the messaging. You only had to skim through the forum to see that rightly or wrongly an expectation had been formed by quite a few people on the likely arrival timescales of 1.6. Then when we had the dev update and the "preview stream" and talk of other media coming up soon, the hype got bigger and again (rightly or wrongly) an impression could be made that release was fairly imminent. All Reiza had to say at that point was "sorry guys we need another couple of months". I think most people would understand that. People just want a better idea of when the update will arrive, if you say to someone "it's weeks away" you are inclined to think 2 or 3 weeks, at least that would be the expectation of most people I know. If it was going to be longer than that I'd tell people its a month or months away. Maybe something is getting lost in the use of language but it is something that could quite easily be resolved.
Fully agree with LP, it would take very little to avoid this mess with communication. A short notice would cost nothing and would help to restore a bit trust with users.
True, but unlike other developers Reiza is releasing the update the moment it's ready rather than sticking to a fixed schedule and force half-baked release that's clearly not finished. As such it's difficult to come up with a timescales because a bug can cause unexpected delays, which is why there's a lack of commitment to a specific dates. And to be honest - I prefer it this way. We're getting the update straight from the oven. Those who ate a still hot bread knows, there's no comparison Also we've seen it in previous releases - sometimes a feature that wasn't necessarily planned to be included is nearly complete and can cause delays. And while most "people will understand" we have a fair amount of whiners too, who would simply argue that someone somewhere said it will be a matter of weeks and it was already a month etc. They're doomed if they officially delay and doomed if they don't. Lack of timescales at least means less "proofs" and fodder for the unhappy and unnecessarily vocal.
No doubt on the strong improvements of 1.6 update, that's not the point. Specifically, I talked about a short communication, anything just following what was communicated last month and is going, without any further pretence and release date... I'm back to daily activities, my full life goes on, I won't be the one to whine, really.
I'm starting to think that at this point its not fair to blast with dislikes someone who is new around here and not used to Reiza's Time (trademark pending). The comunication for 1.6 was terrible and it can get people frustrated and wondering whats going on. My advice is: go find something else to play in the meanwhile, 2024 is actually a good year for gaming.
If you talk DLC then LMDH and Lemans but we also had stock cars 2024 and the new version of Formula ultimate gen 2 meanwhile in free update.
Anybody that asks when is 1.6 going to release, the answer is simple; When it's ready, but to constantly ask the same question again and again it gets tiring after a while..
There’s a difference between being impatient to the point of being annoying and the issues around comms.
