The information has been there for anybody wanting to see it, at this point I don't know what you guys want them to say. They're not gonna give concrete dates, or even vague estimations like "2 months" because it could be way less or it could be way more, it depends, things can happen, mistakes can happen, and delays can happen. The information has been: - We're working on 1.6, we expect this to be ready for summer - Hey, Summer it won't be. This has gotten bigger than we anticipated, it will be released when it's ready, hopefully not too long. I don't think they need to say anything else..
Your factually incorrect, (which isn't for the first time) please stick to facts before making assumptions, paddock club was $99 for those that had the season pass already. Source: Automobilista 2 Paddock Club - What it is and How to become a Member
Managing expectations is a key part of running any business and the relationship with it's customers. If I used the "lets not say anything in case we get it wrong" approach in my work I'd get called out for it. Saying something that you may have adjust is nearly always better than just leaving a vacuum that people fill with arguments and speculation. You can say that this is "just a game" go and do something else and be patient. But making this game is Reiza's business. I have no problem with waiting for Reiza to get it right, but I think they have got there all or nothing (full dev update or very little) approach to comms wrong and it's something that could be learned from in the future.
And again I ask, what you want them to say? Maybe we expect that every end of the week, they write a post saying how many hours they worked and in what version of the Beta they're currently in? or maybe we need a 24h camera in the Reiza office so we can see they're working on the game? The more they talk, the less they work
After the issues with the stream and the more to come soon messaging was followed by pretty much nothing at all happening they only had send out a simple message as I said, "We need another couple of months" if you get a month into that and realise it's not going to happen you issue another message before the two months is up. It's not rocket science, it doesn't have to be in-depth it just keeps the customers informed. it would literally take 5 minutes to keep people informed. I'm not anti Reiza, on other Forums I'd get put down as an "AMS2 Fanboi", I just think they've got this wrong and it's something that could have been prevented and is quite easily fixed in the future. I think some people get a bit too defensive about any sort of critique of Reiza's approach on here.
I get what your saying, but history tells us it's always been like this for the past 4 years, having people saying what your saying didn't change that, so i would suggest investing your time in something else, play ams2, or any other sim/game that tickles your fancy, or just wait patiently (as a small part on this forum does) for the update to be released
that's barely true... but they said that it will take weeks rather than months...and here we are after 1 month and a half
A month and a half is 6 weeks. I know everybody would want concrete dates but that's not how it works, and it'll never be..
One of the dev said to me, it won’t come in 2025, so we really have only 2 month to guess. November or December. By th way, its not because you repeat the same mistake for 4 years, that you should continu. Its already months away. What going on ? How finish is the update? Is the sound and the physic complete since last week ? Is there many bug still to be fix ?
It work for every company in any industry. Movies, financial, and even video game (even small indies studio). So why different with reiza ? We just want to know if its a november release or december ? That is
And every industry has delays, there's already been a delay. Dates were given once, they didn't meet those dates. Now they've told you its coming before 2025, so you already have a date. Happy?
Yes, it will be a november or december release... I hope you can give it a rest now, your really sounding like a broken record, repeating your issues in several threads won't make the update release any sooner, or change how Reiza approaches things, if there will be any change, they might actually stop with writing dev updates as a whole, which would've meant in this case radiosilence since March, but then you would complain about that, so the point is they can't please everyone. The current version of AMS2 is still well playable, believe me, i do several league races on several nights a week on the current build, so you could always play that in the meantime to kill the time waiting for an update.
First of all: when I write something that can be interpreted as some sort of negative: I always find people bending the truth to protect their beloved game. So, a proper adult discussion is nog possible on this forum. Please point out to me where I stated it was a promise?
My advice would be to expect it very late, that way when it releases earlier than that you'll be happily surprised
Well, you're bending my response to interpret is as something negative I suppose we're both part of the problem In your OP you've put a strong emphasis on "SOON" which was historically taken with a very serious timescale, to the point of a promise. I've not said that you stated it was an ACTUAL PROMISE but as a shortcut to get to the point too. I've never meant to put words in your keyboard, but please, don't treat everything as a direct attack, as that's not the intention here. Also, a lot of context is lost in written form so it's tough to read the real intentions and judgement errors can happen. Peace.
Oh, I'm not mad or something like that; no problem there mate. Just on this forum in particular, everything I write that could be interpreted even remotely 1% negative: I'm used to people attacking me, bending the truth and so on. That was not your post: okay, I misread, because of the former statement Anyway: let me be clear here; I can not understand why some people get upset the update takes longer than (they) expected. I mean......real life! It can be exiting too, try it, go out, meet a girl/guy, fiddle with them: you forget the whole game So, that up first, but the whole point I was trying to make: the makers could/should have seen these kind of reactions coming too; it's always and everywhere the same, right? They had better kept it in the middle and/or not state about the 'big update' at al or set a (although vague) timeline. So yeah, peace
Understood. Since I have some experience with software development I know that often the timescales are unknown and while it looks on track the unexpected issues can jeopardise carefully crafted schedules. Which is probably why it was "on track" to mention rough timescales which wasn't quite happening later on. It's a massive update with many moving areas so it's very difficult to stick to a plan. Other companies would simply cut corners to meet the deadline, but that's not Reiza and I'm grateful that's the case. We need developers who care about what's delivered more than the financial bottom lines.
I completely agree with you. However, that doesn't take away my last statement in my former post, but hey, they can coexist
